'25 Recruiting Forum: Official Tennessee versus Vanderbilt Pre-game/Game Thread

This game has been pretty evenly called. It's humans making subjective calls and biased fans always thinking their team is getting screwed. It was a close call but I've seen way worse. We've got by with some things also. Our defense is the major problem in this game not the officiating.
Look at the calls THAT MATTER

Our defense has been bad all year. I thought the problem was DH and JM being out, but it wasn't that either. The interior is just bad.

Here's video of a QB (Baker Mayfield) called for a facemask, and it's discussed by Peyton, Eli and Joe Flacco.

See, I’m certain you would have found at least 1 time it’s happened in 100+ years of football, but even the commentators are basically laughing it off as something you never see happen. I bet it’s been called like 0.0000000000001% of the time. So don’t ****ing call it ever or call it every time going forward. I think it’s safe to say it’s an unwritten rule you don’t throw that flag.

Officiating wasn’t that bad until that last call. But it’s a call that’s literally a difference of 4 points, that’s the problem. When they **** **** up, it has to be game altering stuff lol
Its an accumulation of the whole season imo. We don't get a great home whistle when we really need it, and it irritates the hell out of me. Thus, I vent.

Three missed holds- two on TD, one on Pavia’s long run. Facenask call on Davis.

Holds are gonna happen. Even blatant ones sadly. It sucks. But they’ve made a decision to allow them for “entertainment purposes” and not kill offensive drives. The facemask thing was stupid for sure but it was still 1st and 10 after it. That’s on us for not moving the chains.
