'25 Recruiting forum: Official Georgia vs Tennessee Pre-game/Game Thread

Imma make myself sparse this week—I doubt me being here is productive—but I think we are all seeing this game the same: yall want to make Stockton beat you and we want to stop the run with a light box. Should be a war.

I think you have a great team and have built a great community here. Thanks for letting a barking stranger have a stool at your hillbilly moonshine convention.
finally going to get fixed?

It was the year 2000 and Tennessee was on a 9 game winning streak against the Dawgs. Tennessee started AJ Suggs at QB and that team couldn't generate enough offense against the home Bulldogs and that night, the Dawgs snapped the Vols winning streak.

25 years later it's UGA with the winning streak coming into this game and this is the year that the Vols snap the streak.

Tennessee 27
UGA 23

First time I have had a quiet confidence about this game. The past years I’ve had passionate hope with irrational score predictions that we would whoop up on the dawgs.

There’s something different about this one. It makes me want to just say: May the best team win.

We win this one and we have a wins against Bama, Florida, Georgia, and LSU since the last time we’ve played them.

Perry is playing himself into a freshman all american at OL. making things awkward for David Sanders return
He has played well at RT against two bad defensive lines, but I'm excited to see how the line looks with Sanders there with Moe and Perry at guard spots. Think Sham is our week spot right now

So do you think Sanders is gonna play this week taking his first snaps against Georgia?!

This was originally posted in August/September of 2010. I can’t find the exact original posting, but credit to @nicksjuzunk for keeping it going in some old game threads. It’s a VN classic (*And by the way I’m pretty sure the original poster was doing it tongue in cheek):

“These is some of the reasons we gone whip Georgias ass this year

1. They sorry ass hell.

2. Mark Rich is a damn idiot and he has compiled a staff of damn fools. Ole Dooley wouldnt consider a single one of em for even a water boy position. Them damn jokers couldnt even cut the grass at Tennessee.

3.They team is soft and many of them is prolly sissies.

4.They quarterback is a freshman and he is short as hell.

5.They running back Caleb King aint gone stay healthy.

6. They defense is new and that Grantham fella aint never been no count as a coordinator no where.

7. They secondary is sorry as hell and they couldnt intercept a pass if you tossed it right to them underhanded. Them damn dogs will be last in the country in turnovers again.

8. Our team is more talented as ussual.

9. Them boys is afraid of the mighty T and all it stands for.

10. They mascot and they cheerleaders is ugly.

11. They fans is stupid and Athens is a ****hole.

12. Tennessee is a better state.

13. Coach Dooley is a damn smart genius and is gone out trick coach Mark Rich with his mind.

14. Our boys is better players and is tougher.

15. We took all they best recruits last year, Rodgers, Neal, James and them sissies feelings is hurt about it.

16. Chuck Smith is clearly gone be the best assistant on the field that day.

17. Our dog is more better and Rocky Top bad ass and will be played all damn day long.

18. Most importantly we always WHIP THEY ASS!!!

My prediction is 39-5 VOLS.

If I left anything out yall please add it and as always how bout them VOLS!!”

No, I don't think he'll start. I think that would be a mistake unless he is just showing out in practice. Georgia's defensive line always loves to pre-snap shift and stunt to try and draw false start penalties on us and that would be a bad situation for a freshmen in his first start in a rocking Neyland, could mess with his confidence. If his health is back I can see him getting some obvious running situation or goal line snaps.

I could see Travis Smith making some surprise plays. He looks like a dude and physically appears to one of our WRs most capable of handling the way GA DBs play.

This is the game coaches have prepared all off season for. Bigger o line, more physical WR and different offensive formations. Pistol formations so GA fast linebackers can’t cheat to cross face QB on RB runs (most runs in shotgun are opposite side of RB). Bunch formations to hold off their press man. I just hope we have answers for their A gap pressures.
I’m truly excited to see what we throw at GA
