Imo, you keep the OL lineup the way it is. They are playing very solid right now, no need to disrupt the chemistry. Sanders had 2 opportunities to play but had minor injuries that he could’ve played through. that’s not to say though that he could rotate in a drive or two

Perry is playing himself into a freshman all american at OL. making things awkward for David Sanders return
The opinion of a couple very knowledgeable people on campus, this is a direct quote: "By the time he leaves, he has a chance to be the best OL they have had at UT in the last 20 years."

Think about that. We have had a few great OL on campus recently.

And this was a very under-recruited local player from a small school that doesn't produce big time talent. And the local MTCS poster said he was not SEC level.

I think the question on Sanders isn’t so much about Perry (who is BALLING, but was always a starter once camp concluded) as much as it is Umarov.

For this Saturday…

If Umarov > Sanders, then the lineup stays the same for this week.

If Sanders > Umarov, then the lineup sees Perry shift back to guard and Sanders at OT and Umarov is the 6th man. Talking heads have repeatedly said this is our best combination with Umarov as the 6th man.

I think if Sanders practices Tuesday and onward, we see Sanders at Tackle.
If Sanders misses practice time again, I think the lineup from the last two weeks stays the same.

I think we’ll be fine in either scenario as well. JMO

Yes I agree as a starting lineup, however if David struggles im ok with Jesse sliding and Sham going back in the top 5

Would be understandable to struggle if your first game is against UGA

It’s gotta be close to a 0% chance that Sanders is sidelined until next week. Not 0%, but gotta be close.

Perry will play regardless of what Sanders Does. It may be at R Guard but he is a very good Lineman. Graded very high both of the games this year. He will make it easier for Sanders when he does get on the field.

Vols 37
Fair weather leg humpers 24

It happens, believe they turn the ball over a few times thanks to Neyland and we put on moar steam. Finally get physical and break the streak........not sure about the first quarter boys though. Gonna be a tight one early, but we get it done in the second half, get us some separation for a nice win.

Joey throws his first pick in Urnge. Does not have a great game.

Defense rattles their QB; field position a premium this game.

Max Gilbert becomes a Vol legend. Go ahead FG with under 2 minutes.

Defense holds them on last drive, forcing a 4th and long that sees a pass sail high and gets picked.

20-17 🍊 Pandemonium.

Y’all are funny trying to diagnose why we’ve lost to UGA. Since Heup has been here UGA has lost to 3 teams total:

Bama 3x
Ole Miss 1x (2024)
ND 1x (2024)

That’s it. They’ve won every other game they’ve played. They’re 53-5 since Heup’s arrival. 55-5 if you count their 2 games this season.

That’s why we haven’t beaten them. Nobody ever does (ok not ever but it’s been incredibly rare). End of discussion.

All that being said I think Vols win a close one in Neyland. JA’s poise will be on display and noticeable.
