Because you're loaded on the wide side. It's a misdirection play that's hit or miss

My thought is to setup something later where he fakes it and throws one deep. But I agree with you.

That type of play is so easy to see coming. When no one motions with him it’s zone a d if you don’t have enough blockers you will get blown up.

You don't unless they are overloading the field. They did and then rotated to the boundary. We got the look they wanted but Auburn guessed right on the play call.
