I don't mind it, but primarily because of some WWII veteran interviews I did, and some I researched. The Brits and the French constantly referred to The Yanks. It was almost always in a mostly positive light, like the way you would refer to a crazy friend you can't help but like. But I realize I'm a rare case.

I agree it could be better compared to the other teams. Sometimes I wonder if the Outlaws blow up in popularity during this Cup, if their name would become the nickname at least here in the States.

This. I really like the nickname because it reminds me of us saving the World in WW2.

I understand that aspect of it, being a self-proclaimed history junkie, but to me it's just not as cool as some of the other ones. That said, I can't think of anything better, and sadly, I've been thinking about it all night.

My weekend? Relaxing. Playing with my kids in the yard, a few cold brews and a nap or two. :)

Yeah, the TG thread is unbearable. Wish we could just set it on fire.

Lulz. I do like the idea...it's hard to gather any info for the Weekly Recruiting Update now with the way things have been going. I've tried and just end up frustrated. Starting to think I need a break from VN or just lurk for a while...

I love it. I had actually given up on a lot of the individual recruit threads and was pretty much only following commits' threads, this, and the football talk thread. It was just taking too much time to wade through all the BS.

I was trying to get it caught as though it were the Weekly Recruiting Update, going forward it should be more up to date stuff hopefully.

I really like the new thread idea, don't think it'll last tho.. The crazies in this forum are over running the asylum this offseason. Last summer we had enough commitment it seemed to keep everyone sane. I've only been posting for 6 months lurking for a year and a half or so... This is as annoying as I can remember the RF.. Certain posters seem to have collected a cult like following... I am gonna try to cut down my posting and stick to my off topic thread for the World Cup and hope things trend back to normal soon.

'tis far too long to be a nickname but "the greatest nation in the history of mankind" covers it pretty well.

Every year it's gotten slightly more annoying but has always been my favorite board by far. This year there's been an exponential increase.
