You actually do have to be in shape, especially before you get a caddy. I played competitively for three years. Swinging a club where a mm deviation can echo to dozens of yards off course is not an easy thing to do. It is very tough on 18 when the pressure is on and you've walked over five miles in the hot sun with a bag over your shoulder.

But, most guys on the course get laid. So maybe you should hang with the caddies and talk about how you caught a glimpse of your mom's neighbor's septuagenarian boob when she took the garbage out in her robe.

Lol at the second paragraph. Funny stuff.

John Daly is an athlete for the ages then? I would love to play golf when I can't run anymore.

Did everybody say happy fathers day to your animals that reproduced?

My pick to win the World Cup (Argentina) got off to a sluggish start, but still got the win. Bosnia is really good though and should do well in this tournament. The show starts tomorrow with USA v Ghana! We gon' whoop dey ass!

I miss Tevez running around with his long hair going crazy for Argentina. The Amigos I work with love soccer and call him Apache Tevez. He looked like Geronimo out there.

RIP Tony Gwynn

Seeing a bunch of stats and stories on twitter right now about his career. Amazing.

*From '93-'97 he batted .368
*He had 5 season in which he stole more bases then he had strikeouts
*543 career doubles and only 434 k's
*In 287 career PA against Maddux, Glavine and Smoltz he hit .381 with only 3 k's

I'm was loving it before, but 2 daughters is going to make me one happy daddy. I'll admit I'm not a fan of the baby stage, but it sure is fun watching them grow and learn new things. I have been loving watching my little 4 year old prissy princess grow up and now I get to do it all over again.

BTW, Happy Father's Day to all my fellow VN dads! :salute:

Congrats to you and your family. Wonderful time in life. Yours are closer together in age than my two. Mine are 14 years apart. So at one time I had a wife going through menopause, a teenage daughter, and a baby girl. The hormonal levels and drama was unparalleled in human history. And that is not a sexist remark because all three laugh about it now. :)

Enjoy it because one day you will wake up and be a grandpa like me as your blessed daughters place those precious grandkids in your arms. Playing with my one year grandson and future VFL as I write this.

My son turned 14 yesterday on Father's day. We went to 5 Guys for burgers and fries, watched How to Train Your Dragon 2 (pretty good actually; obviously a compromise for the whole family), got some ice cream, had wings for dinner, and hung out with the kids playing guitar hero. Fun day!

RIP Tony Gwynn. Hard to believe.

@mlbbowman
Tony Gwynn vs.
Smoltz .462 (30-for-65) 1 K
Maddux .429 (39-for-91) 0 K
Glavine .312 (29-or-93) 2 K

This is why I had mad respect for Tony Gwynn. He owned the Braves...

He owned everybody. Best pure hitter since the splendid splinter and DiMaggio, IMO.

I'm a big Braves fan but I was also a Tony Gwynn fan. He was one of the best hitters ever, with a .338 career batting average, and was an excellent role model for kids. He may have been the best pure hitter since Ted Williams. He will certainly be missed by baseball fans.
