With Jerry World 2 being built in Frisco, Plano being overrun with Asians and Middle Easterners, and new construction everywhere including the boom around Nebraska Furniture Mart in The Colony, the northern suburbs of Dallas are a commuter's nightmare. Couple that with the fact its becoming increasingly difficult to be understood anywhere you go as English is not the spoken language of many (Spanish, Chinese, Farsi, Arabic, etc.), I often wonder where I live.

I have lived in the Dallas area for 26 years. It has been a nice place to live, but a lot has changed...and not necessarily for the better. Just a few more years and I can leave the Metroplex behind.

Heed the advise Mr. Daniels. Choose the real UT!

Let me just say this. My parents grew up in Dallas, and I was born in Plano. My Dad was transferred to Memphis in the early 80's. Almost 20 years later, he was given the opportunity to relocate to a couple of places (including Detroit and back to Dallas). He chose early retirement instead. I have Texas roots, but that place has changed alot.

Thank you to everyone for the prayers. She is out of surgery and in recovery. Docs and nurses are amazing people.

To each his own. However, I do not live in San Antonio, but it is nice..

PS: FYI high today in SA is 62, and since I could not care less about BB that would not bother me.:hi:

I have lived in San Antonio since 2004 (and from 99-2001 as well). TN is prettier to me, but there are pros and cons to anywhere you live. There is a lot to like here in SA. Plus, a lot of folks live where they live for a better job. Go Spurs.

New Braunfels and Gruene are really cool.

Rockwall is not. Plano is a concrete jungle full of CVS's and Nail Salons.

But you know whatever floats your boat.

Agree about NB. Settled here after the Air Force to be close to wife's family. Close enough to SA and Austin to do stuff but far enough that you don't have to deal with them if you don't want.

Still thinking about returning to Colorado and the Rockies someday...

The soccer stadium? Or is this something else?

Really? Not that I've heard bad things about SA...

How does it compare to somewhere like Nashville? Or is it more like Charlotte? Or Atlanta?

San Antonio has nothing on Nashville, Atlanta, or Charlotte. It's a nice place to visit. The surrounding area is good and picturesque. Austin only 75 minutes away.

I live in Dallas area and really like it, but don't care for July/August. Still would prefer the Nash/Char/Atl area.
