If Argentina beats Nigeria 1-0 and Iran beats Bosnia 1-0, they will have to flip a coin to decide whether Nigeria or Iran go through to the next round. INSANE!

Do you really think there would be many cases where a kid would just "not work hard" as a football player if he knew it could lead to him not getting to suit up? Right now if they don't perform they just get to transfer elsewhere to play ball. Under the 4 year deal I mentioned, the kid could not just go elsewhere. If he does not choose to put in the work, he would just not be dressed and on the field. He's still a student and on scholarship, but he's not playing. As I said, I think it would level the playing field and have both coaches and recruits much more careful about where/who they sign.

Football has become a business, a good one. I have no problem with it, it has brought a lot of good things to the Universities it supports. I really enjoy watching football and the bigger the business gets the more football we see (channels, bowl games, playoffs, etc.)

A lot of the kids at the D1 level are going to college because it is required to get into the NFL, not to get an education. I personally do not have a problem with it. A lot of people do, I understand that side as well, but....

If a kid is recruited to play football at a school and fails to live up to his potential then send him on his way. Let someone who came to the university to get an education take that class spot, not someone who is using it as a fall back.

That is what JUCOs are for.

There are a lot of things wrong with recruiting but I don't think 1 year scholarships are one of them.

Has anyone see this Kim Jong Un nonsense? Apparently, he threatened America if the movie "the interview" is released. That new Seth Rogan movie about assassinating him. It feels very sophomoric to threaten war acts because of a satire movie. Reminds me of V for Vendetta but Asian-y

Great season for the Vandy boys. Fun team to watch.

Now here comes their awful fanbase.

Guarantee we will get at least one Vandy football player tweet about owning the state, and Clay Travis will probably mention Vandy's overall athletic department success compared to UT's in the past 5-6 years.

It all stops November 29th, my friend.

Vandy just won their 2nd TOTAL national championship in all sports! The other is women's bowling! I had no idea Vandy was that terrible at sports. Vols, Butch!

There was a major lesson in "team" sports if you watched Vandy's baseball program. Corbin/coaching staff are excellent. They have good, not great, players that play well together. Everybody does their job and gives 100% focus and effort. If somebody messes up they are positive about it and still believe in the player, having his back. Consequently, that same player will rise to the occasion at unexpected times.

Norwood blew a well hit fly ball to deep center that cost Vandy runs against UVA in the first game. He messed up on the bases as well in that game. Vandy still won the game. So who was the 8th inning hero last night - Norwood. Had not hit a HR since 4/19 until he hit a tough pitch out to left. The Vandy infield messed up in the 6th and let UVA back in to tie the game. So who got them out of a bases loaded with one out jam in the 8th? Vandy's infield.

Much of sports at a high level is in the head and heart. They got the ring despite not having as much talent. The SEC got its 5th CWS crown in the past 7 seasons. I promise you CDS is preaching this to our diamond Vols today and everyday until next season.

Maybe he just has good taste in movies, and is tired of crappy Seth Rogan films.

Pins and needles for the remainder of this one.

Can't believe how much I have enjoyed this World Cup. I want this to keep going.

Soccer in America is gaining a lot more popularity, so you'll definitely have opportunities to enjoy it after the World Cup.

No it's not. It's the same thing every World Cup. It'll go back to where it was until four years from now. It's growing but at an incredibly slow pace.

Watched the game. It was good, knowing that we still were going to advance. We watched at work:
