So did you do the concrete finish work yourself? I would assume you had help even if so. Stamped and colored concrete is next level stuff.

No, I didn't. Above my pay grade. I did most of the forming. I have a buddy with a bobcat that owed me a favor and he came over for a couple of days for a few hours each day and helped spread out the gravel. I have a tractor and fine tuned with it. My buddy had a guy that he works with that finished the concrete and stamped it. I think he charged me $1500 which is really cheap. You order the concrete with whatever color you want. They actually add the dye at the site by adding a powder. You also get color from the mold release powder they use when stamping.

We used to do some cool stuff polishing and staining, but that stamping they do that looks like grained hardwood is beautiful stuff. I like it for decks around water because it has some good traction properties. The hardwood stamped concrete I have seen had been stained to look even more like wood.

Perfect time to cash in an IOU. That probably saved you about $2-3k. And getting the coloration in the concrete mix itself is great for long term maintenance. Bravo, good sir.

Hey guys, I (and others, I'm sure) have an e-mail subscription to this thread, can you stop arguing with each other so I don't have to keep dismissing e-mails that have nothing to do with Mr. To'oto'o?

Yours truly,
mrmax86

Umm...no...As a matter of fact saying that is a sure way of getting a few dozen meaningless posts just like this one of mine..just to piss you off more...cause VN. 😁
