Well you are sort of right. It does begin in Tennessee, then snake through northern Alabama. The crosses into Mississippi. The it crosses back into Tennessee on a northerly track. Then it crosses into KY where it dumps into the Ohio. It runs through Tennessee twice, not three times.

What you fail to realize is all the poop and pee settle in Alabama. Poop and pee do not run up hill.

After it empties into the Ohio right outside Paducah, it then empties into the Mississippi at Cairo. The Mississippi the flows through Tennessee again, hence the x3.

Also, it’s all “downhill”. Otherwise the water wouldn’t flow that direction. But Alabama is Alabama and physics may be different down there...
