I am always amazed at how any ordinary football conversation can dissolve into a BBQ conversation. Nothing against it, and nothing against BBQ, because I have had some darn good BBQ. However, BBQ isn't the very best food out there.....is it? Hell, my home made spaghetti beats any BBQ that has ever been made.

Central BBQ on Summer St. Posted to be award winning, it was good but I'd rather have Ridgewood's. Plus the blue cheese at Ridgewood's is amazing.
Post a pic so we can see if you would be welcome.
And personally, I am perfectly okay with being called a hillbilly. Lot better than some of the things I've been called. Most hillbillies are God-fearin', hard workin, salt of the earth good people, so I'm not sure how that can be seen as an insult.
Come to east Tennessee near Elizabethton and go to Ridgewood. None better. I could go and just eat the beans.
Tennessean thru and thru, but I love the Carolina vinegar based BBQ. Still love my Tennessee BBQ, but love the Carolina style too.
Vinegar based BBQ sammich with cole slaw on in. It's da bomb IMO. My Brother-In-Law...a born and raised Tennessean thru and thru, who lives outside of Nashville still, makes the best vinegar based BBQ I've ever had.
Worst BBQ has got to come from Ohio. Those folks couldn't cook a pig right if their life depended on it.
Cheers to whoever mentioned Southern Craft in Johnson City. They have excellent BBQ, really an excellent menu. Plus they have excellent beer. I happen to prefer a high-quality ale with my BBQ. After all these years, Ridgewood in Bluff City is still great stuff, however; I still eat there when I can.
