Cheers to whoever mentioned Southern Craft in Johnson City. They have excellent BBQ, really an excellent menu. Plus they have excellent beer. I happen to prefer a high-quality ale with my BBQ. After all these years, Ridgewood in Bluff City is still great stuff, however; I still eat there when I can.

Have to throw in votes for Sprayberry's in Newnan, Ga., KC bbq, and the somewhat over hyped, but still tasty Dreamland.

I am always amazed at how any ordinary football conversation can dissolve into a BBQ conversation. Nothing against it, and nothing against BBQ, because I have had some darn good BBQ. However, BBQ isn't the very best food out there.....is it? Hell, my home made spaghetti beats any BBQ that has ever been made.

They have cut ties with good smokes

Yeah and some of the shares were bought back by Fresh Hospitality but it will be an uphill climb to regain what they had. I decided to try it again recently and the ribs were awful. Was extremely disappointed.

No offense, but Im not so sure you have had darn good BBQ if you think Spahetti beats it. Lol.

There is no reality in which a properly smoked pig adorned in a quality sauce was bested by any form of spaghetti.

Central BBQ on Summer St. Posted to be award winning, it was good but I'd rather have Ridgewood's. Plus the blue cheese at Ridgewood's is amazing.

Central BBQ has the best overall game in town. But you’re at the wrong one. Need to hit the original in MidTown, not the one out east. Yes, there’s a difference. And it’s Summer Ave, not Summer St

Tom’s BBQ has the best pulled pork in Memphis.

Post a pic so we can see if you would be welcome.

And personally, I am perfectly okay with being called a hillbilly. Lot better than some of the things I've been called. Most hillbillies are God-fearin', hard workin, salt of the earth good people, so I'm not sure how that can be seen as an insult.

Agreed - proud to be a hillbilly from East Tennessee...but I am not a redneck.

I live in Newnan. Sprayberry’s is ok, IMO. Their blackberry cobbler, however, is the cat’s meow.

Come to east Tennessee near Elizabethton and go to Ridgewood. None better. I could go and just eat the beans.

I normally prefer pulled pork to sliced pork when it comes to BBQ. However, I agree completely about Ridgewood. It is head and shoulders above any BBQ that I have ever had. I have never been to Memphis, but Ridgewood is legit, for sure.

Tennessean thru and thru, but I love the Carolina vinegar based BBQ. Still love my Tennessee BBQ, but love the Carolina style too.

Vinegar based BBQ sammich with cole slaw on in. It's da bomb IMO. My Brother-In-Law...a born and raised Tennessean thru and thru, who lives outside of Nashville still, makes the best vinegar based BBQ I've ever had.

Worst BBQ has got to come from Ohio. Those folks couldn't cook a pig right if their life depended on it.

I agree with you about Ohio. The thing is, they're already a bunch of dang pig farmers anyway...you would think that they would learn how to cook it.

Burnt end nachos/tacos >>>

Has anybody had Freebirds burrito? If so, is it as good as a Blue Coast Burrito or more comparable to like a Moe’s or Chipotle?
