Yep..Chattanooga is where I was born, all my family from there says ChattAnooga. The only ones that cut it short to Chattnooga are from somewhere else. You had me until Chatnooga... that is how northerners/yankees say it. People from the south and those who live and are from the city say ChattAnooga... that one is a slow pull...
Chatt-town
the "nooga"
Chatta-boogie
are also acceptable.
i went to Ridgewood once and it was horrible, maybe just a bad day
No the Hut was in Jackson, not Jack's Creek, corner of Highland and Campbell, in what I assume is still referred to as Highland Park, although back then it was Hicksville. The house I grew up in was actually just a few blocks from The Hut. When I was in HS in Jackson I actually bussed tables at Georgia's, a restaurant that was beside The Hut. Georgia and her brother Johnny were Greek, and the food there was awesome. But, yeah, The Hut had pretty good BBQ, although I generally preferred getting BBQ from one of the many little BBQ shacks that were around town.
Ridgewood named best BBQ in Tennessee | News | heraldcourier.com
Some like chocolate and some like vanilla...
I've been to Memphis and agree that there is some great BBQ there. I'm in North Carolina now and hate this vinegar based stuff.
Born and raised in Bluff City, and Ive eaten bbq all over the place. Ridgewood is mediocre at best. Jim n Nicks is 10x better than Ridgewood.

Yeah, I mean its ok, but some people act like its the bee knees of bbq, and it aint. The only Jim n Nicks weve eaten at is the one in Bama. I think the best bbq Ive ever eaten was in Austin, Texas.I still like Ridgewood but it is not as good as it was 20 years ago. There are a couple of Jim n Nicks in the Atlanta area now, and they are not that great here. The best BBQ tends to come from the guys who go to the various competitions.
Its a small chain. We always stop and eat at the one in Hoover, AL when we drive to Florida to see our family. They have some locations in the Nashville area too. If you ever pass one, stop. Its banging!
