That’s because evolution is a biological theory.

Science answers different questions than philosophy or religion.


There is also no philosophical or religious explanation for why blonde people sometimes have babies with brown hair.

You didn't argue the opposite, you did exactly what I said. Made the claim that a sense of right and wrong can't be accomplished through higher thinking as opposed to a supreme being.

We all know there was a time when Christians were guilty of killing in the name of God and slavery etc, never should have been accepted by their majority if God granted them you're claimed morality.

They learned over time (higher thinking). I know you hate this but it's exactly what happened.

Or better yet, go catch a bluefin tuna and then kill a rat, take them both to a market and see which one sells and for how much.



It wasn’t that long ago that our country was much more religious than it is now and human life was proscribed less value than we give it today.

No, youre missing the point. You said we’re animals. If we evolved and there is no God, then there is no standard for morality. None. We have no transcendent value, no true meaning. Life and morality is what we make of it. That doesn’t mean we can’t be good or moral, but it does mean that morality becomes nothing more than an opinion. And guess what, opinions differ

I have answered these types of statements from Newt and won’t return to them. But the fact that I disagree with you means that you are not representing me accurately. You do have a sense of right and wrong. But, as I said, there’s a reason for it. And it isn’t that you evolved it.

I read your responses and we will agree to disagree. I saw nothing in them that would explain why God didn't grant them the same morality being that you have now. Whether you believe in evolution or God, the morality definitely did evolve.

and in regards to that specific post, i was referring to your response to mine only. not that YOU are antagonistic.

from the standpoint of beleiving what you believe, and doing the things necessary to uphold those beliefs, i would tell you that you are upholding your end of the bargain.

and there's a certain amount of respect i have for that.

I’d say morality becomes more of a consensus than an opinion, in most cases.


The standards of morality have been in flux constantly as long as humans have been around. It’s not like there’s been a constant, universally agreed upon, set of moral law around for all of human existence. Even Christianity has old law and new law. If I tried to sacrifice a goat to my deity today, pretty much everybody in or country would call me an animal abuser. If I did it 2700 years ago in Palestine (granted I followed the proper ritual), I’d be seen as morally upright and pious.

Our end point is the same. We just get there differently.

You think morality and our values were instilled in us by God.

I don’t think there is a definite set or moral law in the universe and our senses of morality are really just shaped by our environments and the shared cultural experiences and knowledge we’ve built off of the experiences of previous generations.

Killed many, many more in the Atlantic Slave trade. At times is was cheaper and more efficient to work slaves to death and import new ones than to provide conditions for slaves to live more fan 5-10 years.

I totally get the worry you have. I do have a question though. Does that worry extend so far that you don’t want someone who has undergone sex change operations and hormone therapy to be able to use a women’s room? Would you rather that person be forced to use the restroom with your son? Isn’t that at least equally upsetting?


IMO, you are what you’re born as. I don’t consider someone who’s undergone those procedures to really be a woman. But I also think it’s common sense that someone who has radically changed their body to the point that some transgenders have probably should be able to switch their bathroom choice as well. Nobody is putting that much time, effort, and money into changing their private bits with an endgame of “finally, I can get into a women’s bathroom and harass young girls.”

At the same time, I definitely understand why people are uncomfortable with pre-ops using a women’s room.

Idk, I guess I just think you if you’ve cut off your wiener and bought boobs and a vagina that you’ve paid enough of a debt to be able to take a tinkle in the room for people without dongs.

Like I said in my previous post, I know I can't keep them from all danger. I try to talk to them about things and educate them on possible situations. There are female pervs just like there are male pervs. Can't avoid all danger. However, if I can on any way limit their exposure to sexual danger, I will.

I dont gave a son, but I would be equally worried for him if I did. The number of female teacher/ male student relationships is appalling. Maybe they have always been and we are just hearing about them, but I think they are just as disgusting. You don't take advantage of children. If a woman offers a teenage boy sex.... really... he's not gonna jump. I've been a teenage boy. It was pretty much all I thought about.

It is just a world where parents have to balance between vigilant and hyper vigilant. Parents that are not vigilant enough could be in for a rude awakening but that is JMO.

I see no evidence that anybody here believes in absolutely nothing. Just that they don't believe some of what you believe. But I agree that at this point people are just talking at each other in circles and going nowhere so there's not much point in it anymore.

I appreciate the input from a parent’s perspective.

Makes me glad to live in a country where children are safe to basically roam free as they please.
