Ok. So you think these coros, out of the good of their hearts just absorb the tax and thus lower their profit margin? All taxes are passed on as cost item. You can call it what you want but the consumer pays any and all taxes that have acrued on that product or service.

The consumer is also paying for manufacturing costs, payroll, property costs, etc. All companies pass all costs on to the consumer its how you make a profit. Capitalism 101.

Absolutely. If their cost goes up on any aspect, be it raw material, overhead, labor, or taxes,. The price the consumer pays goes up. That's why I chuckle when they say companies don't pay their fair share. Be careful what you wish for.

Markets are set where markets are set. You can't just raise prices by 30% because... taxes... you'd go out of business in a free market. I think GM had a 400Mil surplus one year due mainly to depreciated machinery value... Does that mean a Silverado is going to be 5k cheaper than an F-150 the next year? No. Prices do fluctuate, but it's not really a direct correlation with the tax rate. Taxes are a cost of doing business, just like they're a cost of working/buying in the US to employees and consumers.

But I'm not a financial analyst so that's all I've got for this one

That would be true if the tax was on one company but it's across the board. If the Ford gets taxed more then GM gets taxed more so both raise their prices to offset the new cost, in this case taxes. Every dime that the company pays in taxes is included in the price of the product or service. If it wasn't the company would go out of business, quickly.

I think you mean certain international corporations have ways of getting around paying US taxes... like Google for example who does their taxes publicly to make a point.

Domestic companies, domestic small businesses, etc... oh yes... they pay taxes. :good!:

The company I work for is small and family owned and private and they pay the hell out of some taxes.

Any VN-based fantasy leagues need an extra head?

Optimally a pay league with QB/2RB/3WR/TE/FLEX/K/DEF .5 PPR but I can work with whatever... if you need a dynasty filler for whatever team somebody ran into the ground that has R1P1 I'm definitely down

I'm commish in my Chattanooga dynasty league (Nooga Blitz is the best league ever btw :)) and my brother-in-law has a pretty good dynasty league I've been in for bout 8 years...

But other than that it's just random yahoo/ESPN that just kind of fill the void when I want a draft at insert random time of year haha

It will calm down after the primary (Aug 7). Then you will probably see more ads on the senate race.

If any of you all are into that kind of thing, you can basically get even money on either the TN Republican or Democrat candidate over at the predictit.org betting markets.

I'm commish in a standard 12 team that is going on its 13th season and a member of a 12 team league that is going on 15 years with my Alaska buddies. Lots of fun and lots of money!

One of my best friends ever was a stripper. She was a single mom with two kids whose physically abusive ex-con ex husband was useless as a provider. She could make more in a night dancing than she could in a week at any regular job she could get. It was rough on her psyche though, she started to drink heavily and recreationally use drugs to numb the pain of it.

She ended up meeting a great guy who got her out of that life, they have been happily married for 23 years and she is now a Sunday school teacher, and goes on several mission trips every year. She always has been one of the best human beings I've ever known.

Of course a lot of the girls she worked with were nasty skanks, but that is true of a lot of professions..

Isn't there a documentary about this? I think Demi Moore played your friend?
