I was actually perusing boats on craigslist earlier today - entertaining the idea of buying one. Figure there's plenty of lakes around here, and with me potentially having my kids full time, why not take advantage of lake life and let them enjoy it.

Problem is I have no experience in owning a boat, can't back a trailer up to save my life, and I've heard horror stories about how owning a boat is a nightmare.

But I do love being on the water.

Having a little dingy can be disappointing. TWSS

Trying sail a little dingy on the open ocean would probably leave you capsized and disappointed. Sail it on a small private lake and you can get years and years of enjoyment out of it. TWHS.

Look into clubs. They allow you shared ownership. Boats stays at a marina so no towing. No maintenance cost.

You can dry dock. Had a houseboat at Cherokee Marina, dry docked at the Boat House in Gallatin. Call them 45 mins in advance, they’ll fuel up, stock your cooler, and have in the water when you arrive

Dry docking sounds like it would hurt.

Wait. Are talking about actual boats? Nvm.

They definitely didn't send the the product I ordered. I'll call them Monday. What they sent was much more expensive than what I ordered.
Mine doesn’t look like yours, either.

Yeah..it does knock the edge off for sure. It works better than Ibuprofen or Aleve for me. I walked around G-Burg today for over three hours and never had to sit down..That doesn't sound like much for some people, but for me it is amazing. I usually can't stay on my feet for more than 30-40 minutes at a time no matter how many Aleve or Ibuprofen I take. It doesn't really kill the pain it just makes it really tolerable.

That is a huge difference. Congratulations!

I love the water. Want to retire on the water. Preferably on the ocean. Thinking about a big cruiser. Just a few years before I get too old. Something like this:

You’ll Need a medical staff...when do I apply?
When are you retiring?

I can also moonlight as a bartender.
Also can drive the boat.

Where do you live?
We kept our boat at a marina when we lived in Knoxville. You would call and it would be in the water when you vot there...tie it up when you left and they would put it away. They had boat forklifts and would rack it in a big warehouse. Not really expensive.

Backing a trailer is just practice and practice. Just like guiding your boat back on the trailer.
Take a midweek day off work during school year. Take your boat to a boat ramp and practice all day.

Yep. Speed trap. Told me to sign the ticket and i said what if i don't? He said i would go to jail and i responded i didnt know that was against the law. We did not have a good conversation.

Newt - Dad taught me to apologize and be humble if I should ever get pulled over. It worked every time!

Well, there was that time I got pulled over on I-81 at about two in the morning. It’d been a long drive from spring break in Key West and I just wanted to get home to Kingsport - I was going about 85. When he walked up to the car I noticed I’d stopped by the Interstate sign...so I said um you mean 81 isn’t the speed limit? He frowned so then I put my hand up to my mouth and said beam me up Scotty!

Sooo lucky he had a sense of humor! He didn’t give me a ticket and in fact led me to the Kingsport exit!
