Did Butchna kick your puppy or something? I'll help you whoop him if he did. There is no excuse for puppy kicking. However, this is what I pictured when I read this post.

I could have gone with the Ron Burgandy escalation gif but I used it recently and try to keep my gif game fresh.

My favorite is Hulk slamming Loki into the floor repeatedly. Loki would of course be Butchna. :)
Unfortunately I am impaired for this technology challenge...glitch could you help a brother out?

Not sure I received that treatment...more a spazz freakout from an I.T guy. :hmm:

The relationship our society has with BLM right now is doing nothing but dividing this country more and I fully put most of that blame at the feet of that organization but I have a different take on how the "right" should treat that group.

I think that trump and the Republican Party should fully embrace the organization and support it in many ways IF BLM denounces any rhetoric regarding violence and totally distances itself from such actions.

I think such a show of support would calm many things down And the violence would be much less "celebrated" and decisive within the right and African American communities. Then both sides could work together stop this senseless violence

I just don't think continuing to point fingers at BLM is going to solve anything going forward even if they own most of the blame for this bs IMO

If I you look at what's going on now and ask: who has the most influence to stop this violence against cops? My answer would be BLM. I would go to BLM and say "If you want a seat at the table, it's your responsibility to make it so much of your mantra that anyone even slightly suggesting violence is answer to what you're looking for is wrong and is in no way speaking on behalf of BLM. They have to go so far to the anti-violence side that they appear to be flower children. I'm talking public, national ad campaigns that denounce violence and promote a peaceful means to a resolution. If they want a seat at the table and be viewed as a legitimate organization those are the conditions. Otherwise the BLM risk being labeled a terrorist organization.

I think the seat at the table is going to have be offered very publicly and inclusively on the front end and then the violence can be demanded to stop in Order to keep that seat. I think the right is going to have scratch their back first.

Maybe, I wouldn't capitulate to early. This is something Trump would be good at. I'm not a huge Trump fan but negotiation is one of his strong suits.

Not a fan of trump either and in this case he appears to be driving a bigger wedge between to the two sides

Ah, he's just pacifying his base. He knows that he's not getting any of the African American vote to speak of. I really think he's socially liberal leaning at heart. He's saying what he thinks will get him elected. I don't think we'll see the real Donald until or if he's elected. I do think this racial tension and violence only helps him.

I would hope this violence slows before the election

You and me both. I am genuinely worried about the RNC. It has the potential to be frightening. It's a tender box.

a tinder box?

Of course Trump is socially liberal. He doesn't give a damn about the issues that so animate christian crazies; he's just playing them for their vote. And it is a measure of how desperate christians are that some/many will vote for him as they will simply will not vote for Democrats who are (rightly) perceived to be secular, for the most part, and who heap scorn on christians who want to discriminate against gays and preach biblical nonsense (creationism) in schools, etc. The problem with the Republican Party is that it has no sensible middle anymore--it's gone. There are the corporate plutocrats (and their political toadies in Congress and statehouses) who have no respect (zero) for working people in this country (including the shrinking middle class)' there is the christian block that obsesses about abortion (a federal right for 50 years) and gays and other peripheral issues; and there are all the rural folk (much overlap with christians) who are not very well educated, not very well informed, and who are not astute enough to recognize all the nonsense spouted by conservative pols and conservative talk-show zanies. Conservatives are a joke--look at the boobs who run for president every four years. Laughable.

As for BLM and police violence, it is a tricky issue. I agree there is a leadership issue with African Americans in this country--and has been, by and large, for decades. It is fine to call out racism--as there remains a lot of it in America (much of it as been directed at the President), and a lot of police officers are racist--but blacks must also acknowledge their own role in this mess. Black men break the law far too much; they resist arrest. They do stupid things, constantly. A lot of cops become racist because they are arresting black law-breakers every day. AA's act like their young men are choir boys who get picked on constantly; that is not the case.

That said, it is also true that American police seem poorly trained, and many of them seem trigger happy. They kill a lot of people needlessly because they don't react well under pressure, fear for their own safety too much, and do not know how to subdue people who might be a threat to them or others--but who are not a grave threat. Some are not a real threat at all--but they resist arrest or do something stupid, and police will pull their guns. We are only no seeing how trigger happy they are because of the ubiquity of smartphones. And make no mistake: The fact that America is STUPIDLY awash in guns makes being a cop more difficult and dangerous than ever. If you are stopping or arresting people who have guns on them--black or white--the potential for tension, misunderstandings, shootings, goes way up. That is why the black man in Minnesota got shot--he had a gun on him, apparently. Guns makes this country very unsafe--despite all the BS we hear from the NRA, which is a rather despicable organization. I believe most police groups want assault/semi-assault weapons banned from sale in this country--and yet they are not and are used to kill large numbers of innocent people, including police. It goes to show how crazy conservatives/conservative pols are in America. Out of touch boobs.

I like Gary Johnson, but his vote is a vote for Hillary sadly.

I can't listen to her without getting physically ill.

I'm a Christian and I agree with a lot of what you said. Outside of the biblical nonsense part. But I'll let that one go for now.

Not sure about the gun stuff. I definitely see both sides of it. But I also don't know about the idea of living in a world where only the government and bad guys have guns. To me, that feels like it would turn into a Godfather situation pretty quickly.
