I'd stock up on tinfoil while you're at it

That's it. You just lost your spot in the bunker. But seriously, do you not believe if Hillary is elected that she will ensure a leftist majority Supreme Court? I sure do. I didn't say to bury your guns and buy MRE's, I said to go buy the guns, most specifically any semi automatic rifles, that you'd like to ever own. I don't think that's unreasonable.

Fact number one: you admitted Obama has called for an assault"weapon" ban. Almost all Democrats do. Obama probably can't get it done, but if Hillary is elected she will get a leftist majority on the Supreme Court. If that happens you can kiss them goodbye and God knows what else. That's a fact. If you want one you had better buy it now.

Fact two: Bringing up gun control and even Donald Trump immediately after the tragedy in his first speech is the definition of political. He's the President and it's disgraceful.

And third: I see moral equivalence every time people like Obama start twisting themselves in pretzels to explain how Islam has little to do with what's happening and how its actually our fault for having military bases or because we use their oil or because we have the Bill of Rights most specifically the Second Amendment thus basically suggesting that we're no better than the Islamo Nazis and Commies and have little right to be outraged at anything but ourselves when people are killed.

I personally like having a gun for protection but I do not need an assault rifle as I do not plan on assaulting anybody.

Well, to each his own. Some people are happy with a Prius and some people like a jacked up Z71 with LED light bars. This is the land of the free and home of the brave.

Well then, you don't need a hunting rifle either as you don't plan on hunting anyone. Also, you probably don't need a paring knife as you don't plan on paring anyone. Or an apple peeler...

Surely you're kidding? Not that hunting purposes makes one damns worth of difference in one's right to own any certain weapon in this country, but AR 15's and many other semi-automatic rifles you would call "assault weapons" are used every day to hunt animals, most commonly wild hogs. Every. Single. Day. The AR 15 is THE most popular gun sold in this country. Americans who buy guns overwhelmingly choose the AR 15, so let's not pretend it's a rare novelty item. I thought you claimed to be a libertarian?

Where did I say any gun should be illegal? I'm saying I don't need something that can take out a crowd of people. If more people felt that way we wouldn't sitting on a powder keg that is the US. I would think a Glock 9mm is the most popular gun sold but I'll let you dredge that fact up from the interwebs as that's your thing.

I was making a joke based on the way you worded your comment. I'm all for banning semi-automatic rifles and high-capacity magazines.

I believe there are too many in circulation today for laws to really prevent these weapons from being used in a crime but you've got to start somewhere.

You do understand you can fire a Glock 19 just as fast as an AR-15 right? From strictly a round per minute standpoint they're nearly the same. One trigger pull for one round.

The ignorance abounds within the anti-gun supporters on the capabilities of various guns, yet, it does not stop them from speaking as if they are experts. They don't possess them and they don't shoot them; but, they dang sure know everything there is to know about them in their minds.

Freedom from governmental tyranny and the ability to defend one's self/loved ones are co-dependent on a strong 2nd Amendment.

This issue goes beyond rounds per minute.

What about recoil? Can you control a Glock 19's recoil as well as you can an AR-15?

Furthermore, if you're discussing lethality... what about muzzle velocity and the amount of energy delivered by a 9mm round vs. .223? What about how smaller caliber bullets tumble when they strike flesh leading to larger and deadlier wounds?

This is a more nuanced argument than either side will admit.

Looks like a Christian extremist killed a UK politician. Smh, it's so hard not to hate people

A 9mm is actually a bigger (circumfrence) and slower round. .223 or 556 travels much faster and while it has the tendency to tumble, the chances of a clean pass-through is greater. I've wounds from both first hand and would much rather take a .223 to the torso than a 9mm.

It is a tragic shame. She was a young woman. Prayers to her family and friends.
UK should pass gun control so crazy people can't buy guns. Oh, wait.. they already did. But honestly, I'd rather be shot dead than hit with a car and hacked to death with meat cleavers like poor Fusilier Lee Rigby, may God rest his soul.

Most think the AR stands for Assault Rifle. ArmaLite Rifle, people. Efficient $500-1000 gun. And yes, small and problem game are hunted by them every day.

Root Hog or Die.

It will always be the mind and heart that pulls the trigger of the gun that is at issue. The gun is a tool. It just lays there, an inert object until a person picks it up.
