I think you do . Are you a Christian ? Or a Paulian ? Do you think what one says out weighs what the other said ?

My last post on it .

I consider myself a Christian. Although for a long time I was atheistic or at best agnostic. Yet while didn't have faith I still conducted myself in Christian ways. And I still have my doubts at times. I don't think that either one carries more weight than the other. All scripture is given by inspiration of God.

Thank the Lord we have gotten through "look how much I know about the bible" talk. With Mariotta and Demarco Murray and DGB, the Titans have a great core to make some noise.

I hope so. Good gracious we need something to cheer for, and a line to keep Mariota off his back

Paul teaches the doctrine of Christ. Paul was a Christian, just as I am a Christian. He actually even addressed this very thing in the following scripture:

10 I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment.
11 For it has been reported to me by Chloe's people that there is quarreling among you, my brothers.
12 What I mean is that each one of you says, "I follow Paul," or "I follow Apollos," or "I follow Cephas," or "I follow Christ."
13 Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?
14 I thank God that I baptized none of you except Crispus and Gaius,
15 so that no one may say that you were baptized in my name.
16 (I did baptize also the household of Stephanas. Beyond that, I do not know whether I baptized anyone else.)
17 For Christ did not send me to baptize but to preach the gospel, and not with words of eloquent wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power. - 1 Corinthians 1:10-17

That should answer your question.

And what is the name of the father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost? None of those are names, they are titles. Do you think that all the people in the bible that were baptized in Jesus name were baptized wrongly?

Think "open up in the name of the law" It is a reference to the source of the authority requesting the action. Immersion (gr baptidzo) is an action that is done at the authority of God (the father, the son, and the Holy Spirit).

God. 3 separate entities who are in perfect harmony with one another. It's something that we as man have a very hard time wrapping our shallow minds around. Since Jesus is deity, why would there be anything wrong with being baptized in His name? After all, they were being baptized into His body/His kingdom/His church that He shed His blood for.

Exactly!!! Why would you not want to be baptized in Jesus name? The verse you quoted said all power and authority was given to him. Also how could three entities be completely equal if Jesus had all the power and authority over the other two?

Actually it does not og . Thats just more theology . So Paul is actually Jesus now . ?

Pray in your closet , Be not like the pharisee's .

All authority was "given to him" means that he was NOT over the one who gave him the authority. Right?!?

I assume , you have a Red letter King James Version of the Bible . Go through and read the parts in RED . The parts in RED are not from Paul/Saul . Either worship Christ or worship paul/saul on your way to hell . Todays Christians are troublesome . They are political , and cannot decide who they are praying to on the street corner in front of everyone outloud . Does your church have a picture of Jesus as a white man with blonde hair and blue eyes ?

Who gave Him all authority in heaven and on earth (Matthew 28:18)? God the Father did. The authority that God gave Him wasn't over those 2...it was over everything else.

Ease up there ... you are way over generalizing. Stick with the book. Jesus is trying to bring us all into the church family. But, he was in fact of Jewish heritage.

Huh? Did you even read the scripture? There were divisions among the Corinthian brethren, because some said they followed Paul, some Apollos, some Jesus, and so forth and so on. Paul put a stop to it, and said that everyone is a follower of only Christ, because Jesus Christ is the one who suffered and died for their sins. He was the one that they were baptized into...not anyone else. There were to be no divisions over this matter, because they all were Christians...end of story.

No, the church I'm a member of doesn't have a picture of anything. Why do you have so much anger inside you?

I have read those scriptures a hundred times og . I am 54 I won my first bible at 6 for quoting bible verses . What todays Christians are doing is not what Christ would do .

So , what Jesus said does not matter because Saul/Paul said sometning diff is more important ?

I'm not sure you even know what you're saying, so I certainly can't understand it. Where in the scripture that I quoted or any scripture for that matter does Paul or any other inspired writer say what Jesus said doesn't matter? Their teachings are teachings that are from Christ, as well as being teachings that they received through inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Remember, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are in perfect harmony, so they agree upon everything. Paul was a man who was a great teacher of the gospel of Jesus Christ, but he wasn't deity.

I was Baptisted at Longfield Baptist Church in 1972 . I attended that church for a decade more . We moved and being a child I moved my church as well . I say that to say this . Todays Christians are not worried about Christ .

Todays Christians worship Paul/SAul . NOT Christ .

You didn't answer my question. So it still stands. And here you seem to admit the three aren't equal and that some/one has more power than the others.

I'm 62. Speak for and of yourself and quit generalizing about others. You see errors and generalize it into all or most Christians doing something wrong. First, that's not for you to decide. Second, unless you are able to see over 2 billion people in a very short period of time you do not know what they are doing.

I agree with this for the most part. They're to busy worrying about influencing political parties.

Yes it is actually for me to decide . Your responce is on the negative side . Jesus Never once said be stupid .

EDIT : Paul/saul probably did though .

Jesus said in John 14:7 if you know him you also know the father. In 14:9 "He who has seen me has seen the Father." In John 14:16, 17 and 23 explains the Holy Spirit that he provides to help the disciples accomplish even greater things than him per John 14:12. That sounds really equal to me. Each has a different role, yet, each has equal power to accomplish what is desired by the triune God. Tri + unity = Triune.

Let me be very CLEAR . I believe in God . I do not believe in any of you folks . I do not believe in Falwell or Graham Or Limbaugh or Beck . I do not believe in anyone that preaches politics from the pulpit . That is not what the PULPIT is for .
