It's just common sense . It can be used in a variety of situations that aren't life threatening. I don't care what the guy says. He is his own worst enemy imo.

No, idiots that like to find any stupid thing they can to b***h about ate his worst enemy

*edit. Obviously meant to say ARE his worst enemy but I suppose maybe they ate him too.

The guy makes 4 million dollars a year to coach UT football. Don't act like this is some grass cutters weekend football job. Believe it or not, it's a big freaking deal to be in his position. It's much more than "just a game" at this level.

Do you guys actually listen to Urban and Harbaugh's pressers? I do on my commute in morning on XM. They say the same stuff. I think Butch is trolling you all because you take it so seriously.

I think their offensive issues are more problematic than our defensive issues-- right now. Both teams will get better as the season goes on.

I just hope it doesn't come down to a FG. Their FG kicker can hit well beyond 50 yds with consistency. Medley is only reliable inside 40 yds. Really hope we get out in front early and don't put the game on Medley's foot.

I agree. Their defense stepped down more than ours. Offense stepped down equally.

Fans had reason to be savages to Dooley because he: couldn't recruit. Refused to recruit the team's home state. Didn't recruit Offensive linemen towards the end. Lost to Kentucky, missed/ lost bowl games. Disgraced and insulted the alumni that made this football team what it is. Didn't care that the team's academics were in shambles. And compared our team to Nazis. Butch is a damn fine leader and is a pretty good football coach. His players would die for him and he energized this place while getting rid of the obstacles that Dooley left here. He does not deserve the hate he gets for STATING A FACT in a press conference as if he's insulting the team just because the ninnies get their Huggies in a bunch anytime the man says anything. who would want to go work somewhere where each and every minuscule detail or saying in a press conference is a tweet or sound bite the next day. Our Urban Meyer/ John Harbaugh/ Nick Saban is not coming. The hunchbacks need to get over it and support our coach. Period.

This is all true, but I'm convinced that some of those fans don't necessarily even dislike Butch. They just like being part of the whole "woe is me" Vols fan crowd on Twitter (and even on here).

You see it in other fanbases as well. Sports losses are hard to stomach, especially when you're a diehard fan of a team. So people adopt this jaded, depressed, and negative persona in order to protect themselves from inevitable defeats, and then they associate with other people who have the same persona. There are about 10 happy fanbases at the end of most CFB seasons and maybe 3 in the NFL (SB team and a couple of teams that previously sucked and showed some promise). So almost all happy and optimistic fans get their hearts ripped out at some point during any given season. But the down-in-the-dumps, FAHR THE COACH fans get to be smug and say "I told you so" when things go south.

Are they paying me 4 million dollars per year? Sign me up for that job!

Pressure is all on UT to win this game even w the line favoring UF.

Swing game for the season. Butch knows it. Win and we go into the UGA game undefeated and most likely top 15.

Lose to a much inferior UF team in year 5 and the warm seat gets hot and there is a QB controversy.

UF gonna come out playing with nothing to lose.

This game scares me. Hope we blow them out of the swamp by 3-4 TDs.

No. Just no. They're favored at home and run risk of starting 0-2. Cmon man. Their anuses will be tight.

I don't consider them fans. They're just people with nothing better to do than hate on a man who works 100+ hours a week to try to make them happy. God they are so pathetic.

Would be a shocking break from the norm

Our offensive outbursts have come when it's clear we must score.

I hate to say it, but maybe we need to go down by 10 to release the Hound

#releasetheHound

Risky. They're rallying around that "Play For Florida" mantra. If we get down by two scores and the crowd whips into a frenzy and lights a fire under the players, it'll be cardiac time again. There should be a rule that we can't have two cardiac events within a two-week period. The heart muscle needs time to heal.

But if the other team is also offering 4 million dollars a year, but their inbred vocal minority of haters who call for your head after a come from behind win is much smaller, which do you choose? Exactly.

Tennessee fans are miserable. I am cheering so hard for this team AND the coaches to shut most of you up Saturday. It's sad when you have to shut your own fans up before you shut the outside fan bases up.

This x100, I wish some of our fans and media would go cheer or follow another team
