Lakers need a miracle. They need way more than Lonzo Ball. Get the F outta here. I'm an NBA junkie and every time watched them play this yr they were giving up about 130 pts a night. They have no leader.

All their best players are 20-22 years old. Its expected for them to be terrible. Just as the Sixers and Timberwolves are also terrible.

However, these 3 teams are the future powers of the NBA. All 3 are loaded with talented young players.

Just watch. In 5 years, it'll be the Lakers vs Twolves in the Western Conference Finals and the Sixers vs Bucks in the Eastern Conference Finals.

If the hype doesn't pan out in the league then he doesn't take majority of the hit. His sons do for sure. They are skilled ball players but they are definitely not a KD, LBJ, Wall or Westbrook type of athletes that you know will be special when they hit the league.

Steph Curry and James Harden are not special athletes but turned into special NBA players.

Lonzo is actually more athletic than both of them while being a great shooter and having sublime passing ability.

He'll be a surefire superstar.

I see Lonzo as a Jason Kidd type player. By all accounts Lonzo is a great kid by all accounts, it's just his LaVar is making him look bad.

I agree with the Twolves, they have to potential to be great.

You need to not believe everything you read. That reporter was being an incredible idiot and he said "bad things happen to people who act like you." Watch the interview, she was forcing an agenda and he didn't even come close to threatening her. That woman embodies so many things that I hate about our culture and the media.

Not to mention the fact she accused him of child abuse on an earlier show.

The media has really spun this issue. The reality is LaVar Ball was the aggrieved party in this confrontation. He was in the right and all he did was defend himself.

He and Tatum were the best players I wateched this year. I'd absolutely take Lonzo.

*havent seen Fultz so can't really comment on him

Agree 100%. I also have Lonzo Ball and Jayson Tatum as the top 2 prospects in the 2017 NBA Draft. And they are the only ones in this class with superstar potential.

As I said earlier Lonzo Ball reminds me of Penny Hardaway while Jayson Tatum reminds me of a Paul George type player.

I have seen Markelle Fultz play and he's nothing special. He'll put up numbers in the league but he isn't a game changer that will help teams win. He reminds me of C.J. McCollum. Decent player but nothing special.

Lonzo Ball and Jayson Tatum are the only special prospects coming out of this years draft.

This kid couldn't even hold Fox's jock strap and can't defend a pick and roll. His defense is suspect in college. He will get torn up in the NBA. Hot Take: he will be average at best.

You do know he played Kentucky earlier in the season last year and he ripped them apart leading UCLA to a win in Rupp Arena.

One game in college doesn't determine an nba career.

And FYI pick n roll defense is more about team defense than it is about individual defense. And most of the top players in the NBA aren't exactly known for being great defenders. In particular stars like James Harden and Steph Curry are known as liabilities on defense.

I know you want to knock holes in Lonzo's game because you don't like his dad but the truth is he's the best prospect in this years draft. And he will be one of the best players in the NBA once he reached his prime in 5 years.

None of these guys play defense in college. He is a big PG that can run the show. He can play

Fultz is better. Ball is limited offensively and his shot needs a lot of work. I would put Ball in the top 4 prospects for sure though.

Markelle Fultz's team won only 9 games last year. Lonzo Ball took over a 15 win team and led them to 31 wins last year.

That there should end any comparison between the two. Lonzo Ball effects the game beyond the stat sheet. He raises the level of his teammates. He's the type of point guard that makes the game easy for everyone else. Fultz is a good iso scores and can put up numbers but he doesn't affect his team beyond the stat sheet or beyond his own numbers. Its the reason his college team wasn't even able to break .500 in college let alone make the tournament.

Lonzo Ball will change the fortunes of a team. Markelle Fultz won't.

Gosh, how do you have so much time to watch basketball with all your football tape watching duties?

Lonzo is, as most all other high draft picks are, about a coinflip right now as to whether he will be a success or a failure. I'm not particularly enthused about a kid who wants to have his dad be his mouthpiece and by proxy self-confidence. For reference look at what happened to Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. a couple of weekends ago... JCC was talking to everyone who would listen about what his son was going to do to Canelo. Canelo thumped Jr. The difference being that JCC could actually box in lieu of averaging 2 and 2 in one season of PAC 10 ball.

Lol.

There is no such thing as "surefire" future superstars in the NBA. Greg Oden and Anthony Bennett say hello.

Bleacher Report named the Vol Navy the #2 College Football Tradition, only behind the Army-Navy Game.

There are many terrific traditions at Tennessee such as "Running through the 'T'" and the pregame Vol Walk, singing "Rocky Top" and the "Tennessee Waltz," but none is cooler than the Vol Navy. It's such a unique method to get to games, it's a great party scene, and it should be on everybody's college football bucket list.

It's definitely on my bucket list. Anyone have a yacht I can borrow? :)

I could not care less about a early regular season game given teams need to gel. What i did see is him getting wrecked.

His dads mannerisms have no effect on my opinion of Lonzo because his dad is irrelevant on the court. I have no issue with Lonzo, the person. I just don't see him as a future top 20 player. I just wouldn't want my team picking him up in the first half of the lottery. Just my thoughts. He'll be a good player but that's where it ends. He's good. Not great. Not a superstar.

Edit: in regards to curry and harden, I can't stand their game. One dimensional game for both of them and the NBA has alot of complaints directed toward them at the quality of the game right now. alot will change in a few years if they don't want to drop.

ucla is going to have 2 others picked in the lottery. gtfoh with that noise.

Not too surprising, but Mykelle McDaniel is leaving program.

"Mykelle McDaniel, who left the Vols’ program in mid-December but did return for spring semester and spring camp, once again has indicated to multiple people that he is exiting the Tennessee football program after a redshirt-freshman season in which he did not play. People close to McDaniel have been in contact with junior college coaches, and folks at UT have indicated McDaniel will not return to the Vols moving forward.

The Atlanta-area native who starred at Grayson High School had a strong spring camp, flashing the type of talent that made folks believe McDaniel could be a special teams contributor and develop into a starting role in the future. But McDaniel also did not always take care of his business on or off the field, per sources, and instead has elected to pursue options elsewhere." - Brice

Stop enabling dumbasses like him by pretending they are anything other than loudmouth jackoffs.

Listen, I don't agree with half the stuff he says but I admire his confidence and upfront attitude. I just like that he has all you guys rattled to the bones over the success of his family.

What exactly has he won, the genetic lottery?

Idk, maybe living in a multi million dollar house in cali before the NBA contracts his sons will inevitably receive. Also molding said sons into top prospects and respectable young men. Oh yeah then there's the clothing line that already has its name on every sports page. Doesn't sound like a loser to me. Let's hear your standards.

Lol this made me realize I like Lavar Ball for the same reasons I hate Trump. Only difference is one of them represents his name and the other represents 300 million Americans.

It's freaky how similar they are. the trump effect allows these kind of personalities to prosper.... more Lavar types will come out of the woodworks

If people had stopped talking about trump 2 years ago we would have a different Republican in the White House. If people would have stopped talking about lavar 2 months ago I would still have no idea who he is. But no, people just have to keep talking and give these people a name.
