Gerald Brown is an American football coach who was the Atlanta Falcons Running Backs Coach from 2008-2014.[1] During his time with the Falcons, he coached 2 former Pro Bowl selecctions, Michael Turner and Ovie Mughelli. While on staff with the Falcons, the team had 2 NFC South Championships in 2010 and 2012 as well as 5 straight winning seasons with playoff appearances in 4 of out 7 seasons.
Brown has logged 22 years in coaching which also included six seasons at Indiana University Hoosiers. In his first five seasons at Indiana, Hoosier running backs averaged 1,549 rushing yards per season. In his first year, Indiana gained 1,398 yards despite not having a running back with more than 90 career carries entering the 2002 season. In 2003, BenJarvus Green-Ellis became the seventh true freshman in Indiana history to rush for 100 yards in a game and just the third freshman to reach the 200-yard plateau in a single-game.
In 1983, Brown got his coaching start at the University of Tennessee where he began as a Graduate Assistant. In 1984, he became an Administrative Assistant and served as the Volunteers scout. Brown was part of a Tennessee coaching staff for six seasons (19831988). He was running backs coach of the XFL's Memphis Maniax.[2]
No point he gets fired next year anyway- LOMQuite a nice resume for an offensive analyst...

My post from last week regarding Bohn.....
We don't need some yankee academia lady trying to run our athletics. We need someone who wants to win and understands what UT means. We need a Vol.
If so, that and JJ's charges getting dropped are the leading candidates for best news of the day IMO.
Many of you have wondered aloud about Bohn from Cincinnati. Obviously, Dr. Davenport has a relationship with Bohn, but I'm not sure the committee is very high on him.
We think some formal interviews could start as early as mid to late week.
"Former NFL running backs coach Gerald Brown has been hired by Butch Jones as an offensive analyst. The brother of former Vol assistant Kippy Brown grew up in East Tennessee and attended Sweetwater High School. Brown got his start in coaching in 1983 as a graduate assistant alongside fellow graduate assistant Jon Gruden, for then Tennessee head coach Johnny Majors. Since that time, he's coached in college and in the NFL, where he spent six years coaching running backs for the Atlanta Falcons. Brown has been back in Knoxville for the last year and gives a veteran voice to the offensive staff.
Additional sources indicate to Volquest that Jones and his football cabinet have made it a priority to enhance his staff with more veteran coaches in the analyst and quality control positions. Adding that the NFL experience is desired as Jones finishes up his staff for the 2017 season.
As for the vacant wide receiver coaching position, former Miami assistant Kevin Beard remains the front runner after interviewing at Tennessee over the weekend. He currently coaches receivers for Florida International and former Miami head coach Butch Davis."

We don't need a Vol, that kind of shortsightedness leads to bad decisions. We need a proven, successful AD with a lot of experience running an athletic program. If that person is a Vol, great. If not who cares? How many top programs have an alum as their AD?
I agree. If not Blackburn a guy like that could be good here. Especially if Peyton okays it
I say that because we have too many people interested in things besides winning. I want someone who genuinely wants to win and will put that first and foremost.
I don't trust the powers that be to hire someone like that no matter how qualified the candidate may seem. They want someone they can control. Not someone who wants to win.
That's why I say we need someone who loves this university and would kill themselves working to make us the best we could possibly be. We need a Vol.
So in other words, if we had a normal and functioning athletic department I would agree with you. But we don't. And we hire people like this Cincinnati lady who don't understand the culture and will screw it up if given the chance.
