Although I disagree with multiple points made in the article, one I agree with is over-matched head coaches. I don't think the coaching is that strong in the SEC anymore. I also think the SEC cannabalizes itself. I still think that from top to bottom, the conference is still a little stronger than others. The difference is the top teams aren't better than the top teams in other conferences (e.g. Big 10 and ACC).

Danny Morrison has been Carolina Panthers President since 2009 before that he was AD at TCU for 4 years and before that AD and Senior VP at Wofford for over 15 years. If Peyton signs off, I'm in.

I agree. If not Blackburn a guy like that could be good here. Especially if Peyton okays it

It's been said for almost two months now that the hire would probably not be made until May...at the very earliest April. I'm guessing May. Hart is not gone until June, so I'm guessing they do not want to have to pay double salaries any longer than necessary.

Since they have all this time to kill, why not let them do their due diligence, whether pretend or not.

I stopped paying too much attention to this whole thing over a month ago and have been much happier for doing so. We're probably about 2 1/2 months away (minimum 1 1/2) from finding out anything concrete. Do yourselves a favor...step back from the ledge...breath...and go enjoy some family time. No need in fretting over something you have no control over and is still months away from a decision.

JMO of course. :hi:

Pacifier in their hand?

Depending on what the degree they receive is in, ivy league schools are often a massive waste of money. College degrees have become extremely devalued these days, and while it is definitely impressive to receive a degree from said school, it often saddles the student with a lifetime of debt. I actually know people who can't find a job in their field making more than $40K or so a year who have six figures in student loan debt that calls for $500 a month plus minimum payments which are about 80% interest 20% principal.

Of course, the previous poster could have an entirely different reason.

I guess I'm not worthy to have my own thread. Ya big jerk.

Rish. Get the man another drink. :)

That is an awesome gif. I suppose you can have your own thread. I can always put it on ignore. :)

Student loans are the biggest scam around. They know these kids need the money and they line up to give it to them. Putting them behind the right ball as soon as the graduate. My brother was lucky he received a lot of grant money and scholarships to go to school at Maryville college. Graduated in three years and went out of state to The University of Florida and got his masters in one year. Now he is getting his school paid for and getting a salary from the university of Georgia while he gets his doctorate. In all he is in the hole about 55,000 dollars but people who he works with are upwards of the 350,000 to 450,000 mark.

Looks like 247 has posted a list of visitors for the next Junior Day. Emerson is pictured, so I'm guessing he still plans to make it in. Kundarrius Taylor is also expected to be here per his thread. Anyone with a 247 subscription willing to hook us up with the full list?

In today's society, EVERYONE gets their own thread. Doesn't matter if they deserve it or not.

With that said, I will expect my own thread by this afternoon. Otherwise, I will have no choice but to organize a protest. :hi:

"Former NFL running backs coach Gerald Brown has been hired by Butch Jones as an offensive analyst. The brother of former Vol assistant Kippy Brown grew up in East Tennessee and attended Sweetwater High School. Brown got his start in coaching in 1983 as a graduate assistant alongside fellow graduate assistant Jon Gruden, for then Tennessee head coach Johnny Majors. Since that time, he's coached in college and in the NFL, where he spent six years coaching running backs for the Atlanta Falcons. Brown has been back in Knoxville for the last year and gives a veteran voice to the offensive staff.

Additional sources indicate to Volquest that Jones and his football cabinet have made it a priority to enhance his staff with more veteran coaches in the analyst and quality control positions. Adding that the NFL experience is desired as Jones finishes up his staff for the 2017 season.

As for the vacant wide receiver coaching position, former Miami assistant Kevin Beard remains the front runner after interviewing at Tennessee over the weekend. He currently coaches receivers for Florida International and former Miami head coach Butch Davis."
