butch stones yall. some may not care for his coaching but the man has proven he can recruit. we will see more dropped or decommit whatever and this rascal will end up with some ballers down the stretch as always.

yeah no reason to worry. It's only December with the season over:crazy:

Am I right it saying the rain still hasn't made it to the smokies? Radar looks like it made it right to the edge but not there

I highly doubt with the way this season went and ending on such a poor note at Vandy, along with the Butch leaving speculation, he is able to pull guys at this point... Everyone knew once we got whipped by Vandy, our recruiting would stall and that is exactly what is happening. Unless Butch goes ahead and starts naming new staff that are upgrades to get kids excited, we are in for a slow drop for the next month or so...

I believe that you're correct here. Butch's momentum has come to a screeching halt. Additionally, he doesn't have anything to hang his hat on, and if he's trying to pitch progress at all the family/player are rolling their eyes at him.

If he was able to pitch being THE recruit to turn things around a few years back he dang sure can sell one they are the final piece to winning big. Very easy sell to say we are close and only need one or two more pieces to get to the top.

He's telling recruits and their families,

"ya see you're this brick right here".

"It may be chipped and cracked a bit, but we like this brick".

"Now later on we may not like this brick and choose to toss it in the dumpster".

"How about a commitment"?

It's working like a charm.

Edit: Was thinking about Butch's press conference when Hurd quit and the state of VolNation right now...

Take a look around the SEC guys.

Where are recruits heading? Florida has no juice on the recruiting trail, Malzahn's seat is still warmer than Butch's, South Carolina isn't killing it, Ole Miss is dead on the trail, Miss State isn't a threat on the trail, Sumlin is back on the hot seat.

My point is that it's not as bad as it seems from a recruiting perspective. Smart is still getting the new coach bump on the trail and Bama and LSU always get theirs but what else is new? We may not be smoking hot but there's not really any smoking hot options out there for kids that want to play in the SEC.

If I'm the parent of a recruit, my questions are 'how will you keep my son healthy', and 'what are the causes of all the injuries'. I would be very concerned about that. Are all these injuries this year because of the S&C coach? I know injuries happen, but so many seems to be questionable.

Injuries would be way down the list. My question would be when I commit is my spot safe and we all know that answer. Much bigger problem than injuries for parents.

The loss of the Gaddy twins is big. I don't care if it was grades or not. It is still a failure because we are not where we need to be at DT. That's a developmental position and you can't add instant impact players easily at DT because there are very few that exist and they are so highly coveted.

Big loss any way you slice it. We need defensive tackles!

Good point. My concerns are still on the health side. He can always play college football elsewhere if he is healthy.

Anything from TOS after the sh....storm the decommits started last night? Twitter all but had Jones' Purdue press conference scheduled.
