I think this team has improved everywhere top to bottom except OL...where it has regressed

Problem is, it's hard to do much without blocking

Buchanan will be fine. He can hit too. Looks very good for a freshman in coverage. Martin if he turns his head around would be fine. Lol

If he's in phase, he simply shouldn't turn his head & look for the bAll. He just has to play eyes & hands of WR.hes just got caught on two under throws. It happens.
I ain't complaining one bit about his physical play.
The Gators CBs clutch and grab every play but their reputation keeps them from getting the flags Martin gets

My question is a simple one:

With most of the offensive unit returning and no staff turnover why do we look so different from last season?

Team bought into its own hype? Light workload during fall camp for the stars?

I think Butch may have over adjusted after last season's fall camp injuries and protected players too much. The good news is that the downside of that should only last the first few games.

We saw the DL "wake up" vs VT in the second half. Maybe the same happens with the OL soon.

Listen to Jones describe the blocking scheme in this (some good stuff about TE's too). Is it just me or is his scheme really confusing.

No. It's the same scheme everyone uses. We mix in some zone blocking, but gap scheme blocking is the term for the power blocking scheme everyone is used to.

I mentioned Chance Hall and the scowl he had on his face. Here's his pick from the Vol Walk.

Edit: somehow I Volitiled it.

Love these quick passes and slants by ruthlessburger. Redskins stacking the box blitzing and he's tearing them apart. Would be nice to see Dobbs do that..

I think this is exactly right. The good news is, even with the mistakes, we're 2-0.

This team can and will be really good. I'm sure of it. That doesn't mean we won't be frustrated at times, but it's going to be fine. Or better than fine :)

Trust the process...it's gotten us to our longest winning streak since 1998-99. We talk a lot about streaks on here, but our coaches are responsible for that one, too...

Martin has been in position on every ball that has been throw his way the yr. Kid blankets WR. He is really dynamic. Love confidence in my corners. Martin shows it every play. Has the chance to be REALLY good.

I think that if more of these guys would get a check-up, their doctor would let them know that constant complaining is a symptom of BVS. Complaining when winning points to a chronic case.

yet he was completely out of position on VT long touchdown run. He had a rough night. He has to look back or he will be called for interference.

We really miss Kerbyson and Hall. Hall's athleticism and Kerby's knowledge and leadership.
Debord cannot use the whole offense if he cannot rely on the line. Hopefully J.Jones has provided a spark and Hall will be back soon. Richmond is growing up. He will get there.

Look, he didn't do a good enough job here. No one denies that he failed. HE doesn't deny it, for the record. But I don't think that's the whole measure of someone's worth. That's all I mean.

Ok DD. You're right. The shower discipline install was vital to reducing athletes foot cases by 17%! You're a UT treasure.

My intestinal fortitude has nothing to do with it. The offensive line having none does however. They look like a pee see league team half the time. Where they just hike the ball, and stand there looking around with that "what do I do" look on their face.

Once Dobbs started running then our ground game improved and all of a sudden, he had some nice little pockets. That is the difference in the offense.
