Sure, lets not even dig on a guy who took Nick Marshall to a NC game in the hardest division in football for a guy with “good pedigree” who is beating dudes that we are nearly rioting over them even being on our coaching list. Lol

He's definitely a good coach. Smart enough to get a good DC and let him run it. He fell into the trap of I'll hire a saban defensive guy and have a good defense, which has killed a lot of head coaches careers. He seems to have it rolling now. It is concerning, at how he's missed on QB's somewhat. Bad QB play is what has been holding them back.

Tell me where I’m wrong about Malzahn. There’s a reason he was on the hot seat.

8-5
7-6
8-5

That good enough for you guys? One good season every 4-5 years?
Has shown he can assemble great staffs and will bring in outside guys to augment his offensive scheme.

Gives UGA fits.

Only active SEC coach who has beaten Bama.

Has coached in 2 National Champiosnhip games.

Has had teams that play elite opponents hard even in down years. Nearly beat Clemson in 2015.

Yeah, I’d take him over the guy with big upside but who has never coached a P5 team and is coming off one good year at a school in a weak conference with low admission standards located in arguably the biggest hotbed of recruiting talent in the country.

What's the significance of the Dale Jones 10.3 mile run? Sorry I missed it the first 10 times it was discussed...

Posted on Facebook Friday night something like “just had a great 10.3 mile run. Can’t wait to get back home tomorrow. Love being on rocky top on our bye weeks”

It was either a hint or a troll. The 10.3 mile thing is obviously a hint at Gruden.

I wouldn’t. Malzahn has top 10 talent but goes 8-5 every year with one good season every 4 years or so. He would do the same thing at Tn. I don’t want that. I want a winner

Frost is doing what he should be in that division if he is a good coach.

Malzahn tho...
8-5
7-6
8-5
With top 10 talent

We don’t want a good coach, give me the home run!!

I’m actually a fan of Frost but acting like he’s a home run at this point is a stretch. The best coach he’s faced is DJ Durkin? Norvell? Let’s pump the breaks a little bit

Agree to disagree. He's been the head coach in one NC, and that was the same year they beat Bama. Wrong trajectory ever since.

As for giving UGA fits, so did Butch.

Somebody didn’t. Went 0-12 2 years ago.

Everyone glazed over this fact just because they had previous success.

How would it go over for Butch to say, “We’ve had success in the past, therefore 2017 doesn’t matter.”

The fact is, they sucked to the tune of winless, and he took probably half that roster, and they are undefeated

You can’t look one year and make a Judgement off it. That goes with coaches, QBs, etc

Look, again, taking a team from 0-12 to what will be 12-0 is very impressive. His pedigree is outstanding. He’s beating teams the way you’re supposed to if you are a good coach in that division. He’s this years Herman. Unfortunately he hasn’t been able to play a top ranked team and his game against GT was cancelled but I believe they would’ve won that game anyway.

I’ll take Frost over malzahn all day every day. I don’t want coach 8-5

Meh. He had trouble finding his QB after Marshall and is in a more difficult division than we are. Richt had the same problem at UGA and is flying high in Miami now.

If Auburn pushes him out, we could get him with no buyout as well. Would be a sweet get for us and recruiting would probably be salvaged this year as well.

Alright fellas, I'm out for a while. Got to get some work done today.

I mean, we can't all take vacations to he Bahamas the week leading up to the most important decision of our professional careers, can we?

What do you believe Hutch meant about the plane?

Just that they were buying a plane for recruiting purposes. Remember up until that last couple of week Hutch has not said Gruden was coming to Tennessee, only that there was a possibility. His stance prior to Butch being fired was he thought he would coach next year but it would be in the NFL. He's heard some things that's changed his mind.

I think the people that make these decisions, possibly some major boosters see the attractiveness of having a nice plane to use for recruiting at the head coaches disposal. That attractiveness would apply to any potential coach.

Also, if I remember correctly, maybe LA can confirm, the UT plane was a relatively small and slow turbo-prop, king air. They may want to upgrade that plane to a faster business jet. Just speculation on my part.

Not to mention he has the most talented team in the conference, so they should be really good.

16 of those 22 starters are those that he inherited from the previous coach, as well.

Good coach it appears, but let’s calm down a tad.

He’s won everywhere he’s ever been. Looks to be the next big thing. I’ll take him over coach 8-5
