And Hubbs is the wisest of all those stooges. Pains me to say it. Hubbs is saying Norvell cause he’s been around the block.

He doesn’t think we will get Gruden cause that’s not what we do. I also think he knows that if he sticks with trusted sources he won’t get burned. That won’t be the case for some others. Don’t wanna end up with cred like swain just cause you wanna try and be first.

Yes. That would be prudent. But Currie does what he wants. He bucked advice on when to fire CBJ, too. Currie is going to do this his way. He said he isn't going to comment on the search until a new coach is hired... and that's exactly what he's doing.

I guess he will learn. Maybe the guy yelling "Gruden" 100 times at him after the game last night could change his mind.

That’s fine, but I’d certainly make it known to every reporter in town that it isn’t happening so fans can adjust their expectations.

Currie also knows his job depends on this hire.

The truth is, if he got Gruden, and he turned out to be average, then nobody would blame Currie. He's got to know that.

Last night he was on the sidelines and fans were chanting Gruden. He got stalked by some crazy drunk guy saying Gruden. The boosters want Gruden if you believe ATL Vol.
He's not oblivious.

Currie isn't going to squash it and UT isn't going to comment. That has been made clear. Gruden said last time that it isn't his place to speak out on rumors that he didn't start. Attention is like air to a celebrity-- and that's how he sees himself.
