Randolph leads the SEC in tackles for a DB and there's a thread in the FF calling him out for poor play because he got burned by the best WR in college football.

I hate our fans sometimes.

He had a pretty bad game last night. He's not awful though.

Good afternoon guys/gals. I can't remember being this positive after a loss before. Someone talk be down, tell me to slow my roll, pull back the reins, take the orange glasses off etc....

I am positive we just saw a difference maker a qb last night. He is only a sophomore, I can't imagine the type of player he is going to look like after another season of strength training and development along with the talent he is going to have around him. Am I wrong for thinking he could be a Russell Wilson, Cordell Stewart or Donavan McNabb type elite college qb?

Right with you...there's something special there! :yahoo:

We play the 13th, 11th, 10th, and 7th
Ranked defenses in conference the rest of the way.

We have played the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th so far.

Bama, Ole Miss, Florida, and UGA are all in the top 16 nationally.

South Carolina, Vandy, and UK are all 56th nationally and below.

Mizzou is 38th, 6 spots below us and we have had the much tougher schedule.

I think our defense would have much better numbers if we didn't consistently play top five teams every week.. :)

Either he mistakenly put Worley in this offense instead of Dobbs, or he mistakenly didn't adapt the offense to Worley. Either way, I think jake could have done the first 6 games better. Not saying he should be fired, but I (and plenty of people who do football for a living) think that was a poor decision either way.

QB play makes or breaks you in football. Worley was our best chance of winning in all our previous games. Dobbs balled out last night, but if he wants to start here long term, he has to clean up the inaccuracy on easy throws. His ability to move out of the pocket without giving up a sack or interception is what separates him from Worley/Peterman. I like Dobbs' ability to extend plays, but I'm also expecting him to struggle some in the coming games if he starts, which he should IMO.

SIAP

@Vol_Football: #VolFact: @josh_dobbs1’s 75 rushing yards were the most by a #Vols QB since Tee Martin had 81 vs. Syracuse in 1998.

Wait minute, folks, I'm a little confused....am I to understand that our next four games will be against unranked SEC opponents?

:eek:hmy:

How can that be?

Dobbs is definitely a game changer for Tennessee. Worley is good, but he seems to have trouble recognizing defenses. He threw late interceptions because he did not see the defender. He is a tough kid and i will give him that, but we need Dobbs at the helm if we are going to get to a bowl. that could be the difference between us getting some more big names in our recruiting classes or losing some of the talent that has committed.

That powerhouse UK offense has played
the 48th, 76th, 89th, 90th and 91st ranked defenses so far plus TN-Martin.

We have played the 5th, 9th, 12th 16th, and 29th so far. Oklahoma at 62 is the worst rated defense nationally (outside of Chattanooga) we have played this year on a statistical basis and that is because they play in an offensive conference.

Not sure, the NCAA site does say it was updated today.

I figured it out. NCAA site ranks them based on average yards given up per game whereas ESPN ranks based on total yards this season. NCAA is a better stat because some teams have had more byes than others.

According to ESPN, a bye is treated no different than a defense that allowed 0 yards in game. Obviously, it's a misrepresentation of the facts until the end of the year

He is solid but hasn't been as noticeable making big plays this year as he was in previous years. I don't know if that is him or that we have much better players around him now that he doesn't look as good as he used to with lack of speed around him. It's hard to tell because we don't really know what his role is on certain plays.

Did anyone watch Butch Jones Show? He complimented Dobbs, but consistently included talk about his mistakes in the same conversation. Then he spoke how Peterman would also be needed etc.

Coach speak?

Seriously, when you have more rushing on Alabama then anyone they have played this year, (when previously it has been pretty much non-existent) then I have a hard time finding fault...
