Recruiting Forum: Football Talk XIII

My thoughts as well. Probably going to have to run some quick hitters to keep JW from getting mutilated in the pocket.

Anyone think we will try to get Hurd on the outside due to our "less than desirable" results trying to run inside during our first two games?

I'm not sure but what the results will prove to be a little more desirable than some think. Of course we would have liked to see more yardage on the inside run, but what we didn't see is...........an outside run. Neither has Oklahoma.

Didn't know where else to put this, but I just got tickets to the OKlahoma game so if any of you live around Norman or know the area well, what are some good bars to watch some games at/pregame?

I hope you're right BB. I'm hoping CBJ & co. show all of us some things we haven't seen yet.

I would like to see us run 10-15 times outside of the tackles, and try to take advantage of our big WRs being able to block effectively.

I hope I'm right too. I don't think we've really run more than three different running plays in the last two weeks. 90% have been right up the gut, yet Hurd is supposed to be one of if not the fastest guy on the team. I really believe (or at least want to believe) that CBJ and company have been holding back on the running game. I guess we'll find out this weekend.

Several threads on here addressing that...you'll have lots of options up there... Might see you...if you see a white guy wearing orange say howdy! :hi:

These are my thoughts too. If we can get outside, we have WR's (Croom) who can block.....we have TE's who should be able to block now too. It would also open that inside run up a little more too. Teams wouldn't be able to stack the box every play.

Well, this is a bit encouraging: (Butch On Coach Stoops wanting to prove something to SEC fans)
"I don't look at that at all. I have a tremendous amount of respect for Coach Stoops. I've known him. My first year at Cincinnati we played them, I think they were ranked number two in the country and we played them, and it was a great football game. We lost at the end. Coach Martinez was the secondary coach and we had about a seventy-yard touchdown pass and our receiver was going in the end zone and they're DB came from about thirty-yards behind and textbook secured the tackle, ripped the ball out, and that was a game changing play. I look at our two football teams and we're both looking to go 3-0. They're a very talented football team and I have a tremendous amount of respect for what they've done there and their players."

I re-watched some of the game last night around 3:30 am. Ha. Our right side of the OL is better than our left side IMO.

Kerby > Kendrick
Robertson > Jackson

On the play where Worley got sacked for the second time in a row, Jackson got pushed straight back like 5-7 yards. Against Arkansas State. Pitiful. And Kendrick was right back there to greet him.

Jackson has really disappointed me.

Richmond just announced for Ole Miss but still wants to take his official visits. Said Laremy Tunsil was the difference maker.
:cray:

With Richmond committing to Old Misery and Hall's injury, what happens now to OL recruiting? I'm guessing we will go after at least 2 OL recruits now. OL now takes center stage to fill out the 2015 class. Who do you think we go after? I doubt CBJ will hold a slot open for Richmond hoping he will flip. I'm sure he has told several OL prospects that he can't accept their commitment because of waiting on Richmond. Now he will move on.

I doubt anyone cares enough for it to get under their skin.
Wrong. They cared enough to write an article. They cared enough to where Jones had to talk about It. They cared a enough to start a thread and kept it going with speculation. Now lets come up with excuses to justify our actions. "Oh we never cared to begin with" if things dont go your way u downplay it. If you're right you run with it it. Too funny.

Hmmm, I developed a rash this morning. Maybe that's what caused. On second thought, it's probably Darkgable's posting that gets under my skin. I'll go with the latter.

That rash is from those prostitutes off Cherry Street.

@SwainEvent: Look for #Vols to turn up on William Sweet and Isaiah prince. OL that #Tennessee want in orange.

I'd like to see this. I'm not in favor of waiting around for a flip. Pursue Richmond, but take the approach he probably isn't coming here.

Quick question on the ray rice deal.........how can goodell suspend him indefinitely when he set the rules that first offense as a 6 game penalty.....I think he should be banned for life but now roger said 6,games first offense and now he suspends rice indefinitely... Makes no sense to me...why make a rule and not follow it....I can't stand goodell...what's Ur guys thoughts on that

Roger Goodell is in over his head and trying not to drown. That's the entire story from his end.

Sounds like double jeopardy to me even though this isnt a legal situation. He was punished 2 games but because a video shows the brutality of what we already knew you come back and punish him again. Regardless of how much disdain I have towards violence on women this CYA approach sets a dangerous precedence.

Goodell had tunnel vision in the owners' desire for an eighteen game schedule...this comedy of errors begs the question...Why fall on your own sword FOR RAY RICE??...too many people asking that question today.

Kinda like Sterling losing his franchise over an illegal recording? Reality reigns...Sterling couldn't own a franchise after people HEARD his comments and Ray Rice wasn't getting fan cheers after we see his fiancée airborne smacking into an elevator railing.
