Truth. NFL teams aren't hiring a Vandy coach with limited NFL experience. He has to win at a big school. They know guys like Franklin don't mind their name being thrown out there for publicity. Jim Caldwell will get a job before Franklin but they respect him too much to throw his name around just for Rooney exceptions. Franklin not so much

This makes a ton of sense. That arrogant Ahole likes to hear his name.

Schefter is the NFL version of Clay Travis

Strong not having an agent is problematic and ignorant on his part.

If hurtt has a showcase I can't see how he could matter. He can't coach anywhere with a show cause

I'm wondering if he wants to 'hide' Hurtt somewhere in the football administration and that's a hangup with Texas.

I will say if there is a GM stupid enough to hire him this soon, offer him so much money its hard to turn down, not have any other options because nobody wants to coach for you it's Redskins and Dan Snyder. Bafoon

I'll say this for Franklin's agent...that dude is putting in OT getting JF's name out there.

Franklin must already have his house boxed up or something.

Wonder what Hurtt has on Charlie.. now way would I allow him to cost me either "UT" job.

I was just typing the same thing. Hurtt has some serious dirt on Strong. No way Strong just likes the guy that much.

Might even explain the no agent thing.

A Foxsports reporter just tweeted "look for Franklin to be in the mix should Titans fire Munchak".

I will go back to my childhood team. COWBOYS

I don't buy that's why he turned us down

Not all but it was rumored to be part of it. Rumor has it that "some" (admin/money guys etc) wanted to do an Aub type thing with UT alum(former coaches/players) on staff and he didn't want any part of that.

If the Titans were going to fire Munchak it would have been done already. You don't sit around and wait while everyone snatches up all the good candidates then fire your coach. If they do then you Titans fans are in trouble because Tommy Smith is pure moron to do this and would show lack of being able to make a decision without emotion. He should have fired munch right when season ended but he didn't. Now he needs to live with it another year

If Smith is actually willing to bring Munch back as a lame duck, my hope that we might shake some of the Raiders vibe Bud was giving the franchise is probably gone.

I understand bringing him back if you're wanting to roll with Locker. If one or both (Locker/Munch) flop, then you can blow it up and start over in 2015.

But I really don't get how beating the two worst teams in the final weeks (who you managed to LOSE to earlier in the season) warranted continuing down that road. Fan apathy will be massive.

Personally, I was hoping they'd kick Wisenhunt's door down.

Texas recruits itself. I like Chuck but I don't think he's strong at the X's and O's. we'll just have to see how it goes.

What would make you think that? Where has his X&Os not been up to par in the past? south Carolina? Florida? Louisville? I hope you not just making an "Al Campanis" like assumption

Agree. Just saying should have fired him then. They waited too late. Fan apathy is real in Titan land. I like Wisenhunt. Good coach that got stuck with a terrible QB trade by his GM in Kolb.

I'm not sold on Strong doing well at tex. I can't help but wonder how good Lville would've been without Teddy B. Regardless of who texas hires I hope they go through a period similar to ours since we ran Fulmer off (whether either deserved it or not). I'd love to see texas fans humbled and learn to appreciate the occasional down year with 8 wins or less like we've had to (at least I have).

I don't see Coach Cut leaving Duke for Lville if Strong leaves. I think he's content there.

OAN, I'm calling an upset win for Houston today vs vandy. Go Cougars!
