“Tennessee gave up on the running game too soon”

My brother in Christ our running backs averaged 3.21 yards per carry and our longest run was 11 yards
Hooker taking off a few times decisively to open ground like he did against Bama would have jacked that average up and loosened their defense up.

I was watching it again and on several blitzes I was like dang, he would have run for twenty yards if he taken off toward the open ground.

They got the ball at our 37 and scored in one play….. with a safety…. They would have had 2 points but probably starting inside their own 40 yard line.
It 100% was a saftey. Spraggins was down before the ball came back across the goal line. At the end of the day that Punt was the biggest play of the game.

He’s pretty right though. Bad day for Hooker. Our O needs to hit on some of those deep shots to run right. Didn’t get it done. Hooker overthrew 3-4 of those that he hasn’t missed all season and threw another to UGA.

UGA is the best team we’ll play all season. If we get a rematch, maybe Hooker plays like he has against everyone else. Would like to see how the game turns out then.
That is all I am saying...UGA is a extremely talented and very deep team and they would probably still have won a closer game if we had hit those big plays, but to act like they were so awesome on defense that there were no plays to be made is pure 🦬💩.

It really doesn't. I am ecstatic with the season we've had, but that doesn't erase the hurt of yesterday, and nothing about it feels good. I'll feel good when we obliterate Mizzou, then SCar, then Vandy. But I hate that those barking idiots have a reason to rejoice at our expense. I want to be the team that humbles their asses and remind them they're not that great. I guess I'm just petty like that.
It really does. It is good knowing the reason I feel miserable is because the games actually mean something on a national level, rather than losing to a terrible team and being miserable because we just flat-out suck.

I don't think we have much of a run game without the QB right now. I thought we had gotten better at run blocking but we're not quite as improved as I'd hoped. Thankfully, we could play 100 teams and maybe find 1 that could shut down the passing game the way that UGA did but UGA might honestly be the only one that has the speed and talent to do that. If we face UGA again they will do the same thing *unless* we run the QB more and find a way to get the TE and RB in on passing plays more. I feel like if our TEs or RBs improved even just a little bit more at pass catching then we can give that defense problems. We simply didn't think they could shut our WRs down completely. But UGA's corners are their strength.

Mizzou and SC have good parts of their defenses but I'm more worried about Mizzou than South Carolina. I don't think either can shut the offense down, especially now that they'll have something to prove after getting brought down a peg.
RB, TE and DB is where we are solid at best. The OL played tentatively on their heels because of the crowd. I don't think UGAs front 7 is any more talented than Bamas and LSUs. The OL played aggressively in those games and played much better. They are not as puny as they looked yesterday.

Good point...I just hate Georgia and their jackass piece of 💩 coach so freaking much...🤬🤬

They’re truly the worst now. We’ve got to beat Kirby soon
We need to recruit well to make that happen. We need our defense to be able to shut teams like UGA down in games like yesterday's when the offense is struggling.

Our defense needs a few massive talent injections to get to the level where we can turn games like that one into a defensive slugfest.

When it comes to football, I'm a complete sadist. I prefer to inflict the pain and humiliation.

I save the masochism for other areas of life.

@jave36 I still say this LSU player has possession of the ball with two hands and the ground as a third point and his left knee was down. The play is over before the AL guy slaps it out of his hand: he didn't "touch" it. He slapped it out of a guys hand after he was down. If the LSU player had stood up and run for a TD, the refs would have called him down right where he is in this photo.View attachment 511388
Also, this ball was tipped:

That's 6 points total.

The SEC nightmare scenario occurred. They know there is zero way a two loss SEC champ gets in. They tried to screw LSU last night but it didn’t work because of Kelly pulling a master class coaching job. If Georgia is 12-0 headed into SEC championship, they’re in regardless of that game. The SEC’s best chance of getting two teams in are Ole Miss and Tennessee. Ole Miss isn’t that good IMO. We’ll finally get the calls in our final three games and the commissioner will push hard for us. Ole Miss will lose to Bama and perhaps a third.
