My soul finds comfort in this fact…

The Vols are scrapping for a playoff berth and Henry To is hoping for a quality win against a ranked Ole Miss as he’s finishing his Bama career
He looked like ass again last night. He whiffed completely on an LSU TD 1v1 and was constantly in the wrong place.

If Kiffin studied our game and LSU's game, he will know the best way to move the ball on Bama is running straight at Henry T. It's been 10 yards every time, and he has that freshman RB and Evans.

We're going to get to see the mettle of this team and I'm excited for it. Last year, the team rebounded well after each loss and won every subsequent game with the exception of the Alabama game (which came after the questionable loss to Ole Miss, but I digress). I know Hooker got pressured and hit a ton yesterday so I will be interested to see if that has messed with the timing in his head. Hopefully he can snap, clear, and resume the way he was playing in previous games.

While I would not have chosen a loss to UGA, yesterday probably played out in the best possible way. If you can get in to the playoff without having to play in the SECCG, that is the ideal path. You essentially get another bye. Take care of business. Beat these next three scrubs like we should and let's finish strong. Would love another rematch with UGA. If they beat us again on a neutral field site, you just have to tip your cap to the better team. That being said, we have got to get some of these big bowl games out of Atlanta. No reason UGA should essentially get home games in both the SECCG and a playoff game. At a minimum, the SECCG should move to Nashville which is pretty much equidistant for most of the SEC.

Just my $0.02. That and four dollars will buy you a coffee at starbucks.
What messed with Hooker was throwing that interception. He can’t dwell on that. Just sling it. There were multiple times we had receivers open but maybe a little tighter than he liked and he just wouldn’t throw it.

I get it you want to be cautious. But sometimes you just gotta let it fly.

I’m most worried about Mizzou. Decent defense and if we have a hangover and struggle on offense it could be tight.

Agreed. GA only beat them by 4 this year, FL beat them by 7, and KY beat them by 4. This game may be closer than some would like. If we start counting our chickens before they hatch, the eggs may be taken from our basket.

Team needs to stay focused and take care of business.

I think there is really something to Hooker's lackluster performance yesterday and the false starts, instant pressure he was not used to (clearly, didn't know what to do and took sacks instead of throwing the ball away which had me yelling) and having Tillman out there...
I made that comment about Tillman possibly throwing the rhythm out of whack a few weeks ago, and I think it was there yesterday... The second half, even Danielson pointed out a few times where Hooker only looked to his left and there were a few of our WR's wide open on the right...

THIS WEEK IS WHERE WE SEE HOW GOOD HEUP AND THIS STAFF ARE AT REBOUNDING, GETTING OUR PLAYERS MINDS RIGHT, AND MAKING ADJUSTMENTS.

Watching Hooker come off the field yesterday, he didn't look happy at all (of course he didn't) so I hope he lets his performance fuel him this week in practice and watching tape so that he goes out against Mizz and lights them up.

Plenty of fixable things to learn from yesterday.

**** Remember at the first of the season when we weren't even in the top 25???

Some doomsday scenarios:

1) Georgia and LSU win out and UGA somehow loses to LSU in the SECCG.

2) Michigan and Ohio St win out and play an absolute classic in The Game.

3) TCU wins out.

4) One of Oregon or USC wins out.

If 2 or more of those things happen then we are in trouble.

I don't think there's more than a 5% chance of 2 of those things happening though.
A two loss LSU never gets ahead of us after we beat them on road by four touchdowns.

IDK if they were getting running or passing tells, but they key'd our snap really well. After all the false starts we basically always had to go on one, as soon as Hooker clapped his hands their linebackers were flying down so they were in the backfield before the O lineman had a chance to look up.

Yeah, idk. What you said is kind of what I thought too. I just remember hearing that.

Yes. Even with the L yesterday, this season is still....

I hope we can recruit these studs. As a poster said above, our guys were in position on offense and defense. We were just out talented. We need more dudes. That Bennett missed tackle for a house call was prime example. Need a talent infusion
We need more talent than a walk on quarterback?

Agreed. We only beat Mizzou by 4 last year. Plus, GA only beat them by 4 this year, FL beat them by 7, and KY beat them by 4. This game may be closer than some would like. If we start counting our chickens before they hatch, the eggs may be taken from our basket.

Huh? Didn’t we score like 60 points on Mizzou last year lolABEA5EFE-97EB-409B-9977-166EC92834AB.jpeg

We beat Mizz 64-24 last year...

So guys...if we can get back to face UGA again...now that we know what they will do, what is the gameplan to defeat that defense...plus we have to stop their offense better.

Defense full out blitz every play. Jack each tight end hard at the line. Man WRs. Oh and have James Pearce be the extra guy with a bead on Bennett.

On offense, have Fant in the backfield as RB on 65% of the offensive plays. He can blast the blitzer. He can get yardage with running.
Put Ramel Keyton out wide on the double double WR splits instead of a TE. No way that they can cover Tillman Hyatt on one side and Bru Keyton on the other side. And there’s always a swing pass to Fant. Or a throwback pass from Fant to Hooker.

13-1 🤠

Watching that game getting whooped at the LOS, and everywhere basically there’s no way you can’t say we don’t need more dudes. I mean it was clearly obvious. Faster, stronger etc. they didn’t even have their best defensive player available for the game. Lol. I mean

My thoughts on the CFP/ Here is my rankings for Tuesday.
1 GA
2. OSU
3. Michigan
4. TCU
5. VOLS
6. Oregon
7. LSU
8 USC

We need to be rooting for Texas next Saturday. That would move us up to 4th. Then we should move up to 3rd after OSU and Mich play.
Final poll imo
1. GA
2. OSU/Mich winner
3. VOLS
4. Pac 12 champ with 1 loss or TCU with 1 loss
