Hill didn't come to UT to sit and rehab on his family's dime. He went to Maryland to be near his family and could have transferred to a school closer to home. He clearly expects to go full ride and compete for PT. UT backed off other QBs to take him, so some plan has been in the works for a while. Who knows how good he can be after two ACLs, but Pruitt and Chaney must have reason to be positive, because otherwise, why go this route?

Don't you tell me what not to do. Jk I know what you meant. As far as never being developed properly, I think Helton did a horrible job calling plays last year. But I do think he did a decent job developing JG. Just didn't put him in good situations in games with his play calling.

I really don't know on development. We've heard JG imply he basically couldn't make any calls at the line. On one hand, that's so insane that it's hard to believe but on the other, all the live action audibles are a major part of development imo. If that wasn't allowed or worked on...just oof.

I'm guessing this walk on/redshirt year is to see how his knees progress and if he can still play at a D1 level

Hmmm....wonder which ones are "HORSEPOO". Gotta believe the checked ones are true(T) or Duh !

T -Ansley is very confident in the defense as a whole
- Roman Harrison is going to be a star
T - Ansley said we won’t be giving up big plays this year like we did the last couple of years
T - DL is large. Very large. Staff doesn’t think they’ll be a liability
- Henry T will be freshman all sec. possibly all American
T - Pruitt said he came in last year over confident and was humbled very quickly. Won’t make that mistake again this year
T - Feels 8 wins is the floor
T - JG is actually a legitimate QB. The hype is very real. No fluff
T - If the season started tomorrow, Trey Smith would start. As of right now he is cleared to play. Staff keeping that quiet
- Eric Gray is that dude. If he stays healthy, he could win the heisman
T - Palmer is going to have a big year
T - Watch for Crouch in goal line formations
TTTT- staff said they will NOT be losing to Florida this year
TTTT - the team has a chip on their shoulders this year due to the fact nobody is talking about them.

Will work up a photoshop this evening to make it official. Call me crazy, but I kinda wanna see Simmons eat early and often. I think a kid like this is the type that will grow a ton from cracking skulls on Saturdays. Him and Savion might take over that NG spot and not look back.

We can call Savion the One Man Gang (hopefully he earns it).

You are proving Bruin's point though, this type of thing coming from the player really doesn't mean much. Lots of players go into a season saying that they are going to go pro, but then when they actually go through the process and get NFL feedback reality sets in

I was more talking about helping with mechanics and speeding up the clock in his head. Which despite people's eye tests, statistically he cut his sacks per dropback in half last year. Which is pretty significant IMO. But yeah not letting him make calls at the line and audibles is pretty dumb. Was just trying to give Helton a little credit for something but who knows how much he helped or if that was just JG working hard on it and making a natural progression. haha

Yeah, I've pushed the sacks per attempt bigly. So much from both sides is so exaggerated, he did very well in that department and credit should be given.

Not sure we'll ever know the whole story with Helton on anything. Entire situation was just weird.
