Mostly tongue in cheek, but the turn of products and movies pressing their agendas instead of simply providing quality products and entertainment is frustrating. Won’t discuss beyond this wide sweeping statement to stay on topic.

Understood. It's a slippery slope.

Question. If X or Y product pushed an agenda you agreed with. would it still be an issue?

Anyway, i'm with you on ceasing topic & discussion.

247 said Bituli was out today because he appeared to tweak an ankle last night. VQ seems to contradict that he was out.
Pretty sure I saw 35 with the OLBs during their drills on one of the videos posted in Practice Thread 8. 247 must have not noticed Bituli was with the OLBs.

Don’t care who they are. Name the names. Burn their azzes to the ground.
Absolutely agree. Unfortunately sex trafficking doesn't get nearly the attention from the media it should. It's not as trendy as racism or anti-Trump stuff, but these girls (and guys) are caught in a form of slavery that's as horrendous as anything we could imagine.

At least for movies, they've been sources of social or political commentary for as long as they've been around. Not a marketing or comunications person, but I gather you'd find the same thing from the advertising world (think of Mad Men), in fact if there's any avenue in the world that tells us what to think, it is advertising for products...it is basically their job. Often not selling a product, but an idea.

I took 3 different screenwriting courses and each time 1 thing was always brought up by the teacher - the social norms and views of the writer will always make its way into the material, even when unintended. The question is whether they are reinforcing social norms, traditional views, etc, or not. The former is rarely noticed, the latter much moreso. Regardless, politics is everywhere.

But isn't it quite a leap going from 1 hotel concierge implying he can get a young boy (or maybe just a young looking gay hooker?) to all the rest? I mean, where is all this coming from? Who is leading the charge on this narrative?

It feels like slightly separate issues. Can the richest of the rich likely get whatever they want with enough money and connections? I don't doubt it (how many actually take advantage, who knows? Big difference between a handful of bad actors and everyone). But that doesn't mean all the rich and powerful are in on covering it all up. Seems like a blanket demonization of a socioeconomic group from a bird's eye view.
It’s just an example of the indifference to it. I’m not saying the two or linked per say.

I would encourage you to go do some research on all the Epstein stuff. I don’t want to clutter the thread up more than it has been. Here’s a good podcast on it if you don’t feel like doing a ton of reading:

I think our defense will be the best part of the team.
Feel like our pass defense is going to get back to being above average, maybe even really good. Worried about our run D, but if the DL can contain, I'm more optimistic about our LB corps than in some time. DL play is everything for us. Could be good enough or a disaster. Here's to Rocker earning his paycheck.

On the anonymous coach comment regarding Pruitt's players not overtaking the starters last year.

Sorry, but this quote is utterly ridiculous. Of course the 2018 Vols would have the bulk of their depth chart made up of Butch Jones recruits! He was a first-year head coach who had only been able to secure half a recruiting class for 2018.

Goes on to give a decent account of how the roster was broken down and why the comment was so dumb.
Tennessee football: Anonymous coach dead wrong on Vols, Jeremy Pruitt, Butch Jones
