Interesting note by Simonton on UT's chances of getting to 7-5. Basically said we needed Trey back, get Solomon eligible, and other DL players to play above expectation to get that 7th win. Combining this with the recent article by Ubben and mod conversations from 247 from the Spring - it feels like those that have seen this team the most feel 7 wins would be a solid accomplishment, but nowhere near a given.

Excellent post. This staff takes "need to know" very seriously; so does Fulmer and so does the athletic committee. Talking about team business outside is against team rules. Players face suspension for violations. The staff has talked to players' parents about it. Zero tolerance. Anybody who has friends in the AD and/or is friends with players' families has gotten the word. The coaches and their families say little. Fulmer parses every word. And he's talked to donors about it.

Most of the media info comes from recruits, their families and friends and a few parents that talk off the record. The closer someone is to the program, the less they talk. And when someone inside the program talks to someone outside, that person is generally trusted enough to keep quiet. That's how the HC and the AD want it and most are respectful enough to abide by their wishes for the good of the program.

This is one of the more encouraging things I’ve read about the new administration. Sounds like we finally have people in charge that “get it”. When was the last time that happened 2004?

Welp. Now I'm at 10-2 being the floor

Athletes should be able to profit off their own likeness. Don’t think they should get paid a salary or anything like that. A tad extreme there and not realistic imo
Perfect. Let the ones who can profit on their likeness do it off scholarship and then let the SAs who can't stay on scholarship. Saves a huge amount of money in the AD

I actually prefer this. The media has low expectations, while the coach has high. Much better than the media talking about NC dark horse, while the coach reminds us that 43% of the team has never played an away game at night while wearing orange pants.

Disappointing.

I think that's accurate.

Ehh. They dont see the team practice that much do they? IDK.

Let the media set the floor. Pruitt is telling croots 9 or 10 wins. I hope we hit in the middle.

GBFO.
