Speaking of odd, manufactured meats ...

When I was growing up in East Tennessee, we had Spam quite frequently. Sometimes for supper, my mom would heat a thick slice of it up in a pan, melt a slice of cheese on top of it, and we would have it with toasted bread.

I guess they would call that a “Spam Melt” at a restaurant.

Not half bad either.

My kids think I’m an alien from outer space when I talk about that, Vienna sausages, and some of the other stuff we ate regularly in the 70s and 80s without much thought to it.

Kids these days. *shakes fist into air

I love spam.... but it is absolutely terrible for you.... ask Hawaii and the other surrounding islands who get tons of shipments of all the food the US doesn’t want anymore.....

One of my favorite players from that class, his high school tape was next level. I'm holding out hope that injuries have been the reason he hasn't made noise yet and he is about to break out.
I remember agreeing with you on Jones. He’s exactly what this WR core is missing. Kid has ridiculous speed

“Fish and chips Hubbs? ******* fish and chips! I want FOOTBALL for my $9.95 muthaf****! I don’t care who’s parents I have to kill!”

No better drunk food than the fish and chips I had in England and Scotland. For years I used to order F&C on menus here in 'merica, but never did it taste as good as it did over there in them places.

FYI - I deleted my comments.

Until I gave up pork I used to mow through a bag of hot and spicy pork rinds like nobody's bizness

Was just going to post this exact same thing..... Not that it was ever Rodeo Drive, but before Green Acres Flea Market there on Alcoa turned into a dump, and I'm talking early 1990s here, I used to ride my bike there with friends and buy and sell Nintendo games. Even got a job there helping a guy sell games and collectibles, for $60. Which was a lot of money when you're 13-14. I ate more than my fair share of pork rinds during that era.

Ate some recently for the first time in forever - just plain flavor though - and it was disgusting.

I can't remember if he had one or two major knee injuries but those can be debilitating for a kid who relies on speed. But even if he's healthy, it's a hard climb for him to get time on the field.

You just know Callaway and Jennings gonna get theirs. Staff loves Palmer and he's been referred to as the best all around receiver on the team. They're steadily trying to make Jordan Murphy happen - and he definitely has needed speed. Plus you know they're going to give Ramel and Tillman some PT both because of talent, as well as to be able to sell "freshman playing time" to 'cruits.

Verdict on this guy.....

Seemed like he was talked up last Spring (iirc). Then I think reports were he was in the dog house last fall (iirc).

Labruzza gonna find a role on this team or nah?

Here's a "damn I grew up poor moment" ya know people talk about nostalgia foods from their childhood.

One of my favorites was an aunt would make us cheese bread, it was a slice of bread with cheese on it that she put in the oven until the cheese melted.
uh, you mean cheese toast? lol.

Gold. My dad would put tomato sauce on an english muffin and top it with a slice of american cheese and bake it. 5 year old me would always ask for this.

hope so. he, and several others, from the last couple classes need to be factors on this team if we're going to get close to doing anything we want to do....sooner than later. if the "veterans" on this roster are same old same old, that's how we wind up hovering around that 6 win mark hoping to beat Vandy to go to a bowl.

if we get something out of the middle of this roster, anything productive, that's how we get to 7 or 8 this year.
