Exxxxxxactly.....simpleI remember that podcast and remember thinking that people were blowing what they said out of proportion. If I'm not mistaken, they used the word "wonder" when having that discussion, as in they "wondered" if some other coaches weren't reaching out to Helton and getting bad feedback. It seemed very speculative when I heard it.
Next day, the narrative on VQ from posters was that Pruitt was unreasonably mean to coaches and wouldn't be able to hire a reputable OC. It blew up from there.
What does this mean?
I agree with this take to an extentJMO but I'd be excited about him as well if I was Bama. He clearly is a heck of a recruiter and I'd argue he's a good coach that simply the magnitude of this job overwhelmed him. Obviously he woudnt succeed as a head coach there but IF Saban is slipping I'd prefer Jones leave as well because I see him as being a good position coach for him
Well Weinke appears to be under @Atlanta VOL cloak of protection...so Fair?![]()
I thought I had read somewhere that he had spent a lot of extra time on special teams. I think he did well with special teams, but if you can't do it without taking a lot of time away from other periods, maybe you're not that good at teaching it. I don't see Saban giving up a lot of practice time from defense or offense to work more on special teams.I probably agree here. But even though he was good with special teams that could've been just because they used half their practice time on special teams, which is unusual, and not just 1 or 2 periods.
Yeah that's what I was getting at.I thought I had read somewhere that he had spent a lot of extra time on special teams.
