How I took it was he chewed his ass out 20 minutes before he informed saban he was leaving.😂😂😂😂 that’s even better
You took it how you wanted to take it, then. Because that's not what he said. He told Saban that he was going to Maryland, and promptly got an ass-chewing from Saban telling him how much they needed him to stay. Then he left that and got the call from Harbaugh.

Reading through the last 4-5 pages-- there's a lot to be excited about and we are not used to all of this positive momentum, so most are cautious as to when are we going to get kicked in the nuts... we've been through too much over the past 10 yrs and deserve some good coming our way...
I do wonder who the heck does AL have recruiting out there right now with so many leaving? Recruits HAVE to at least admit there's a lot of uncertainty there right now and you won't know who will be coaching your position this fall if you commit....
With the HT situation trending our way, and Tosh and others gone or leaving, I guess the only person really left to make a push for him on the AL visit is Saban himself, which gives me "BVS", but I still think we get him.

A few on here saying they are worried about Saban raiding our staff--- If you sit back and think about it, it really wouldn't make sense for any of our guys at this point with all the momentum we have to jump to the dark side, unless 'ish went sideways and someone was truly pissed or unhappy, and I just don't see that right now. Unless we let one go to upgrade, I think we keep everyone else unless someone goes to be promoted on another team other than AL...

The article on Fulmer coaching and getting his hand slapped.... LOVE IT, we knew he did it, and it gives me the FEELS... He's not perfect, but Fulmer is as close to perfect in what we need as an AD right now to get this University back to glory... now just F'n fire Holly and we good.

Saban and assistant coaches

Seems very likely that will happen. Only one that's a maybe is Pickens. Impressive staff and recruiters we have in Knoxville.
I commend this staff in every way...but 1. Speed on the outside is lacking and vastly needed.

Troy: Sources tell FootballScoop Kentucky’s director of recruiting EK Franks is expected to become assistant athletic director for football at Troy. Prior to joining Mark Stoops’ staff, Franks had served as director of player personnel at Florida and at Arkansas. He previously had served as associate head coach / running backs at Southeastern Louisiana and had been on staff at Wisconsin, Kansas State and Delta State.

It's amazing what fans can spin positively and I'm clearly an expert on that topic. But there's a 4 page thread on Bama 247 discussing Butch Jones being on staff next fall as a position coach and most of the posters are excited about the possibility. They want him coaching WR's or TE's and the general consensus is that he's a very good coach but UT was the problem and now that he's a Bammer he's back to being a great coach.

I am starting to think the tides are starting to turn and the cycle is coming around where Bama will suck again soon and the mighty Vols will be back on top!

JMO but I'd be excited about him as well if I was Bama. He clearly is a heck of a recruiter and I'd argue he's a good coach that simply the magnitude of this job overwhelmed him. Obviously he woudnt succeed as a head coach there but IF Saban is slipping I'd prefer Jones leave as well because I see him as being a good position coach for him

Ron I think it’s happening. It’ll be a while, but clearly somethings going on down there. I think they’re going to start declining and everything around the Vols is positive right now! Phil the Bama killer is running the show

I'm cautious about throwing dirt on the Saban/Bama dynasty at this juncture, but...

It's hard not to find that whole situation a bit perplexing. So much staff defection, and we've heard almost nothing about potential replacements.

Butch couldn’t manage talent and egos, and all of a sudden he’s going to be better at that as a position coach? At Bama!? The only way this works is with serious hand holding from Saban teaching him how actual accountability works.

Personally I hope Bama gives him all the responsibility he wants.
