Some here are offended by UT spending money for some odd reason
It’s my position that my university isn’t going to do it. I don’t think Mullen is elite. I just don’t. But he’d win a bunch of games and keep us near the top if he’d have come here.
I think there were talks but Tennessee just isn’t going to spend that much for a coach. I don’t know why. We have the money and the fan support. But history tells us what our administration is going to do.
Yes, all of this plus it's the fact that we would have never been able to prove that he did not know, and that would have been used against us. The self righteous media would have used it because it was Tennessee. A head coaching job is not a place where you are innocent until proven guilty. It's not a cort of law. Image does matter. The media turned it into we should have hired because we could not prove he was guity....and Meyer vouched for him.Very true and I am one of those in that group. I didn't want Schiano because I think he would have been a disaster so when the outrage began I went along. If the allegations against him are true obviously that's a non starter but we can't know for sure on those but the end result is we dodged a bullet..
This is a good point, I think I actually agree with this one.My contention is that Mullen has one thing on Pruitt, experience. I think Mullen may have had a better first year at Tennessee due to his experience. I think Pruitt may have a higher, long term ceiling. Next year will tell me a lot. Don't expect huge improvement but if we're getting blown out by Vandy and Missouri, I'll definitely start to question that.
