Guys...my son, Sutton, started preschool today. Man....it hit me like a ton of bricks by how quickly your children grow up. Sutton will be 4 next April. Braelyn will be 2 next February. Also, we have a 3rd one on the way in February.

My parents always told me how fast my sister and I grew up in front of their eyes. I believe them now.

My oldest just turned 13. We went shoe shopping and he's wearing the same size shoe that I am now. (10.5 Wide) That blew me away. They grow up so fast. Glad I got 4 others coming after him. One of the truest parenting statements I ever heard: "The days are long, but the years are short."

I found it interesting that Simonton yesterday alluded to the possibility that Johnson would start at LG against WV because of their unique 3-3-5 defense and we planed to road grade thru them. He acted as if he woudnt be able to stay in the lineup once we get to the SEC type defense. Situational lineup which is certainly something you don't see every day it sounds

I mean the guy starts QB for saban for two years. Wins offensive player of the year. Kiffin loves him.

And you’re acting like he should be second string for army.

I have seen him live and stats don’t lie. On passes that are 15 plus yards in the air, he hits on less than 20 percent. He would be horrible in a true pro style offense. He did great with Bama but wasn’t his arm. It was dump offs to their great backs who made the yardage and his running which is incredible. He would do well at Army, Navy, and Georgia Tech. But when he plays against great D’s, even Bama struggles because he is not a passing threat. Heck, it has been talked about forever. It’s not something I just cane up with. At the Bama and UT game I went to last year, everyone could see it and even Bama fans said the same thing and they see him game in and game out. He can’t pass downfield period. I don’t give two craps that he won an award. He played for the best team that year and he was the QB and he put up numbers but they were not from throwing it all over the place downfield. You have just taken a stance and you can’t ever move off of one once you do.

I pray that we have a QB who if the OL will give him time, can throw the ball downfield better than Hurts because if we don’t, we are in big trouble and for a long time.

I believe this is a high possibility. Not sure JJ can quite hold up on the interior against grown men in the SEC just yet.

Would love to be wrong but he needs some peanut butter sammiches

We should be able to run on them and they should be able to pass on us. Maybe by the 4th quarter we can tire their DL and gash them.

Don't blink. My "little" one started UT last week.

I won't be shocked to see Smith go back inside. Our best case is Tatum and Richmond finally get it at tackle and Smith moves back in. Imo Smith was far less effective at tackle last year than inside

I’m not a Tatum fan. I don’t think he has the body nor skill set to be effective in this league.

Leave Smith at T, we have a whole lot of G bodies up front right now we can plug in.

JJ looks lean and svelte. That's what an excellent S&C and nutrition program will do. That shirtless pic from last year was an absolute travesty.
Funny thing is locklear is only 8 pounds heavier. And it's not like carvin and ryan Johnson are that much bigger either. They're both 303 lbs.

My fear this whole year will be our DL being gassed by the 4th.

Really, really, really need some unexpected depth guys to step up this season.

I think JJ has a great lower half (no homo) but needs some development up top.

Next year he should be well over 300 and able to play anywhere on the line.

I am not a fan of richmond either but hopefully one or both can finally make it happen

Do you agree that smith struggled at times at tackle last fall?

Im no expert on OL play at all but I think he was fine out there. His best position is G but he’s also our best tackle by a long shot.

Cole Cubelic (best SEC OL guy on Twitter) has him rated as the best T in the SEC. I’ll defer to his expertise on this one.

That is what is strange that he is on two deep. I have not heard or read anything on him over camp.
I think he's maybe in the 2 deep in the since that he's in the top 10 OL but he won't be the 6th guy selected if you know what I mean. They are cross training everyone so that the guys that come in first will be because they are the best OL not because they play a certain position.

I am no expert either it just seemed to me he was a star of all stars at G and got beat plenty at Tackle last fall. Obviously he can and should he better but there hasn't been a lot of Developmental time for him
