Chief gets has a bed rep and gets grief because of the way he states his opinions. There are plenty of posters here who sometimes agree with him in theory but dislike how he comes off as a poster.

I get that we’re just a few days away from football and the way I’ve been pumping the brakes the pst few days may bum out those that are more bullish on our prospects this year.

But I do think we have great vibes around our program right now with the best coaching we’ve had in probably more than a decade and a good core of guys to build around moving forward.

I just think the odds usually point to first year coaches having some bumps along the way and think it would be unfair if Pruitt sees backlash for a 6-6 type season this year. I think we’re gonna see a much better product on the field this year that should be fun to follow and watch. But with the way the schedule works out, I don’t necessarily see that translating to a stellar W-L record and I hope Pruitt gets treated fairly if that’s he case.
He better be treated fairly. I'm concerned that some of these same people who are barking 7, 8 or 9 wins this year will be hammering Pruitt when he goes 6-6. A lot of folks need to get a grip IMO.

Darth, right on all points...except those about Chief.
I agree with all you just said, and I do think it's smart to pump the brakes a little. I guess I'm just sick of talking, hearing, and thinking about last year, you know. And no, I don't believe that anything from before Pruitt should be dragged into his era. I know I know, some players may just be who we have seen the last years, I know that...but, then again, they may not, and if so, this staff is going to squeeze every last drop of whatever out of them.
If we squeeze enough, 8 wins is attainable. But if I'm being realistic, I'll take 6-7, no reason we shouldn't. And if ANYONE is ripping Pruitt, for whatever reason, after the season, for 6 wins...well...they are the type who just needs something to complain and be mad at...either that, or it's Chief.
I apologize again for my rudeness, Darth. Im fired up, but I'm still working the kinks out after 10 yrs of being in the dumpster.

@Sleegro Yes.. as opposed to you and others... his persistence and redundancy on the kc jg debate has soured me on anything he has to say about anything qb’s

I just had to take a jab
Do you want to go on that again? Because I sure don't. You don't have to agree with me, but my opinion on that is not stupid, I do think it is misunderstood hy some, and that is probably my fault, but sometimes people have trouble with comprehension too. Either way I don't want to dredge that up.

Question... How do y'all deal with Bammer sense of entitlement? I was out to dinner with work collegue, the aforementioned Bammer, and he was going on and on how Bama's 3rd string would go 8-4, the dynasty will continue even after Saban retires. He said only remembers the losses, and the we're two plays from having 3 in a row...ref Clemson two years ago. Also he said every HC in SEC would eventually be a Sabanite. But capped it off the he wished TN could be a rival again. Made me wanna throw up in mouth.
And deposit it in his baked potato.

Unless Bama lucks out and lands literally the second best coach in the game when Saban retires, they're going to face a tough road. The next guy will probably win at a nice clip for 2-3 years, ala Larry Coker at Miami, but eventually they'll come back down to earth. And when they do, it will be ugly. Their fans will be so spoiled and entitled that the job will be incredibly toxic for anyone who isn't Saban 2.0, which is everyone. I can see them churning and burning coaches for a decade trying to recapture the Saban magic after he leaves.
