So, last night I pulled Phil Steele's experience chart, the Athlon coaching rankings, and the bovada over/under lines for this season into one excel sheet.

I'm just waiting on the 247 team talent composite to crank out my predictive model. Happy to share that with everyone as well.

Think that could potentially be a big issue for this team. What has been said about the punters hasn't been positive. Punter, kicker, d line, and our secondary could very well be weaknesses for this team IMO.

The biggest thing that scares me about WVU is the amount of explosive plays we might give up. Brand new defensive scheme, probable freshman starts in the secondary, and a weak pass rush that will most likely require blitzing against a very experienced offense.

I agree with the posters saying WVU is overrated, I think this ends up being a game where we are a different team by Nov and if we could play them again we would win, but just had too many breakdowns/1st game mistakes

I think you're correct, but we are in good hands in the secondary. I think that unit will improve over the season.

I wrote a script in R last year that would scrape it all into an excel file, but they changed the design of their page. Shouldn't take me too long to fix. I'm hoping to get everything ready so once it's released, I can generate my model in enough time to place some bets before the season starts.

He is the biggest contrarion troll on this board..he deserves everything he gets. I actually thinks he feasts on the attention. As far as AK goes, in my old days I would have been way worse than that. I hated censorship, and I wasn't trying to be a saint. I would have had the attitude that if you don't like what I have to say, and how I say it, then don't stick a microphone in my face, and don't ask me questions. It is a really dumb and shortsighted attitude, but at least it's honest.

Good stuff. I still net to sit in front of my computer at home and get my model completed.

Happy to help where I can. ChattTN's posts helped me find that data from Phil Steele. I wonder if total returning yards would be better than % returning yards. If you find that data somewhere, please let me know!
