I just don’t understand why people get so upset concerning an opinion that is different than their own, especially when the person involved doesn’t really mean anything to them on a personal level. Now, if I were to come on here and criticize Fulmer, Holloway, or Manning I could understand some strong criticism. Those guys are part of the fabric of Volunteer nation. The last 10 years of UT football have been embarrassing, and we have lost a decade of young fans due to the mistakes that our administration has made. Excuse me for not jumping in line and blindly following the current regime. If it weren’t for the vocal minority Butch or Schiano would be our coach today.

It wasn’t the vocal minority that stopped Schiano. It was some very vocal donors, boosters and politicians. As well as the very vocal majority of Volunteer fans.

I don't come to this part of VN much, well I lurk, but don't post here anyway..but here is my question:

I feel like we have 3 solid RBS maybe even 4. I think we have 2 solid young QBs in shrout and Maurer? ..but I feel like with the ridiculous schedule we play and CJP being a defensive guy, we really need a 5 star, can't miss, elite running back on order to take the step next year (19) and 2020...I think we will have a 7 and 5 type season this year, probably win 8 or even 9 games next year..but to break thru and win the east, to hit that 10 win threshold, we are gonna need an ELITE running back for this pro style offense. Are we even being mentioned in the recruiting of the top 5 backs in the country next year? Who are the can't miss backs for 19 and 20? How do y'all feel about the backs we have?

Our RB group should be fine this year and next as long as we don't lose too many guys. Chandler, Jordan, Coleman, and Fant are all sophomores. Banks is a freshman. A rotation of Chandler, Jordan, and Banks in 2019 should be solid. We're still not sure what Fant brings to the table or if he'll stick at RB or not, but the coaches seem to think he should be able to contribute somewhere. Coleman will be the odd man out, IMO. He might look at some other options heading into 2019.

As far as RBs we're recruiting...it's really not that clear for the 2019 class. Some think Beasely might end up at RB for us and Crouch will likely get at least a short yardage package as a RB for us. Other than that it doesn't seem like we're pushing too hard for any particular RB. Could be a Taulia-like situation where the coaches are quietly after someone who's already committed. Right now it kind of seems like RB might be a position we aren't prioritizing as highly as some others. If that's the case, we're gonna need to land a stud or two in the 2020 class.

You got a friend in me buddy. I did the same with Butch. Folks were ready to throw me in a fiery furnace for saying Jones wasn't going to cut it. Same situation here, just with a recruit that no one has any idea whether he'll pan out or not. But if you're the least bit hesitant, get ready to fight.

Woah is me.

Maurer is a Vol commit, that makes him part of the fabric of VolNation...you answered it yourself.

All opinions and opposing viewpoints should be welcome as long as we stick to stating them in an adult manner.

If you spit in the wind expect some blowback, that doesn’t make you wrong.

I agee we don’t need the same message over and over, it won’t change anyone’s opinion.

On the QB front I think our coaches are going for someone special or just a sold stand in for 19. If we don’t get a great QB in 19 we’ll get one in 20, as long as we don’t have a superstar waiting in the wings.

We are loaded at RB and only a very good 5* would think he has playing time here for the 19 class. So we get a great one or no one for 19.

You seem to be the only one not owning what you said. He may end up not playing a down but it won't be because he has a noodle arm. Everyone has an opinion. The difference is some of us own it when it's shown to be wrong.

LOL! The least bit hesitant? Some of the comments were that Mauer has a noodle arm and is not an SEC QB. But to quote you, no one has any idea whether he'll pan out or not. So let's let it play out before declaring the kid a waste of a scholarship.

In other news... Football season is just over two weeks away.

First day of Fall Camp is July 29th.

HALLE-*******-LUJAH, maybe then we won't have to shift through 49/50 posts of a ******* thread being about the ******* NBA. Fact: being kicked in the pills repeatedly with steel toe boots while listening to a Hillary Clinton speech and watching paint dry is preferable to the ******* NBA. Oh boo hoo hoo, there's nothing football related to talk about right now.....so take your basketball ******* to the **** forum dedicated to it.

So to change up the subject a bit, for us to be just transitioning back to pure white and orange with no alternate colors, they are dropping a lot of smokey grey and what seems to be black gear?

Seems like they might have a uniform cooking for 2019? Considering they can't change them this year....?

Edit: BTW these look awesome.
