Idc what people are talking about. I care what the contractual agreement is between the 2 parties. And their contractual agreement says otherwise (your no connection comment).

Like I said before, they are a unofficial/quasi-memebr of the acc. They get all the benefits; the ONLY caveat: both parties keep their home game revenue, which negates them from OFFICIALLY being an acc member.

So we agree they aren’t a member of the ACC in football.

My 2 original points still stand: play 4-6 games against the acc and they are contractually an unofficial/quasi-member of the acc. He did not underachieve lol. Winning 7 that year was widely considered to be pretty acceptable given the circumstances. And outside of ol Urb at Ohio State, very few guys come in and set the woods on fire in year one. Kiffin would have likely won the east at least a couple of times had he stayed for a few years. Yeah he was immature, but he was and still is one of the best offensive minds in the game. Had a staff full of studs here as well.

I'm sorry but I doubt overall Kiffin would have survived. Hopefully he has grown some and may make a fine P5 coach for someone in the future. When he was first mentioned as a possibility here I had the opportunity to speak with his college roommate. He was laughing about it and told me we better hope we didn't get him. He said some very bad things about his character that I will not repeat since I do not personally have the first hand knowledge myself. Interestingly he said he would have no problem betting all he owned that he wouldn't be at Tennessee 2 years later if they hired him.

They are an unofficial member (quasi-member) of the acc in football. Thats why they play 4-6 acc games a year. Only reason it's not official is the nbc deal, other than that, they are contractually bonded. My point still stands, they play half of their schedule against the acc and is bonded with the acc. They just don't share the home revenue. :zeitung_lesen:

I think if they wanted to be a part of the title game, they would. It doesnt benefit them to play in a conference title game. If they go atleast 11-1, they would be in the final four (bama is a prime example). Why jeopardize that in an unnecessary title game? Both parties found a loop hole to be tied one another w/o the neccessary baggage that comes to being traditionally attached. Kinda like dating w/o being married. By law, you are single, but in reality you all are a couple.

If they wanted to play in the title game, they would have easily negotiated an 8 game acc regular season schedule like the rest of the teams. And somehow they still would find someway to not be an official acc member. The bold part, I 100% agree with you, but those feelings have nothing to do with their acc affliction.

Idk why this is a discussion. We all know the acc and nd football are playing the system (money driven). They are in business with one another, but they arent financially tied to another (they don'thave to share their earnings so to speak). They each keep their own (home) team's revenue. If they ever get mad/upset with one another, they get their stuff (money) and leave. There's no conference buy-out crap other universities had/have to go through. Its smart business.

it really is. we are on a 3 game win streak against the ACC. would be four if it wasnt for shenenagins from unc.

this has been our worst stretch in Tennessee history. ACC is not good top to bottom.

Man like 3 or 4 of yall moved the goalposts on 91. He said they played about 5 acc games a year and was asked to prove it. He did and yall act like you won something. You didn't. If the evidence you asked for is provided you can't just change the root of the question. That's a bruin move. Yall better than that. Haha. The acc begged them to join and Notre dame said how bout you just give us a bunch of benefits and we'll give you some games and our basketball team which has very little tradition. But they do have a football contract with the acc. Which was 91s point. You guys are just being semantical about it.

Haven’t weighed in, but as a member of that club I hate new members joining. I didn’t tell anybody on here until months afterward, but my wife was on that journey when I joined VN. You’re handling it better. Don’t take any “no’s” for an answer as far as making her comfortable and spending quality moments. I let my wife’s family drag her to targeted radiation for her brain tumors and the anti-seizure medicine took her STUBBORNNESS away...and precious months of the real her. Baldbiker helped me the most on this board...hope he pops up. Keep strong, friend.

Just to be clear, the posts that quote them aren't blocked. You'll see the post that quotes them, you just won't see the quote within their post, if that makes sense.
