He did not underachieve lol. Winning 7 that year was widely considered to be pretty acceptable given the circumstances. And outside of ol Urb at Ohio State, very few guys come in and set the woods on fire in year one. Kiffin would have likely won the east at least a couple of times had he stayed for a few years. Yeah he was immature, but he was and still is one of the best offensive minds in the game. Had a staff full of studs here as well.

Dobbs was such a special runner man wow. I feel bad for giving him so much crap when he was here. Didn't know what all was going on behind the scenes.

For some reason people remember us running clock vs Florida and bama and still losing and claiming moral victories.

There was 5 gimmes on that schedule. UCLA handed us the game on a silver platter to make six. We completely no showed for Ole Miss and our bowl game and we lost to an auburn teams home that finished 5th out of 6 SECW teams.

It’s always amused me that Vol fans never stopped making excuses for the guy who wrecked our program. 7 wins was an underachievement and that DC against the spread O was a complete mental mismatch.

You're wrong. Go ahead and leave out the whippings we put on Georgia and South Carolina. You're acting like that Ole Miss team was garbage as well. Pretty sure they won the Cotton Bowl that year. Running clock against Bama? We were likely a blocked field goal away from winning that game. That Auburn team wasn't bad either.

I also don’t like him and he’s been a failure as a head coach at every stop. One season at FAU doesn’t change that.

Wrong. When he gets another shot at a big program he'll kill it. I'd be watching for him to go to LSU after Orgeron bombs this year. ✏️️
