They want control.

Bev Davenport got sideways with them over the outsourcing deal and then we had Schianogate where she axed the Haslam puppet. Her days are numbered.

Fulmer will be harder to remove but removing his power will be easy.

It's not just about those 2. It's bigger than that.
If this happens then it’s time to stop sinking our dollars into Tennessee athletics.

If Tennessee's first family decides to blow up a good thing with Fulmer and Davenport, people need to boycott this program. Sounds crazy, but seriously, do that.

I appreciate that tip. :eek:lol:

The first year I started trading was '94. I was trading commodities and I finally settled on trading corn. Corn that year was in relative short supply and I was keeping up with the fundamentals. I used a lot of leverage and doubled my money within a few months. I didn't know how or when to sell to take profits so after the new harvest came in (better than expected) I gave back all my profits and then some before I'd had enough of that trade. Sometime later I read from some trading book authors that I should never get into a position without knowing where I was going to get out. Wow! So that's how that works.

I was short the market the weekend Bin Laden was reported killed. It was a very good short setup. I was overleveraged and for about 14 hours I was sweating bullets with a huge drawdown until early Monday afternoon when the market pulled back and I closed the position for a small profit. I chickened out on the trade because of the drawdown and of course over the next few days it would have worked just as originally planned with a 5 figure profit.

I figure anyone who trades has good stories and bad. It's like fishing stories. I enjoy trading. For me, it can still sometimes be almost as nerve wrecking as Tennessee football, not quite, but close. :)

$9.95/month gives you access to my hot tips.

I'm thinking boycott the first family's business.

Idc how it's done. Infuriates me to think that because that family is so power hungry, they'll blow up a good thing simply to gain control. If Haslam removes Charlie Anderson from the board, I don't think Fulmer will have a leg to stand on in the long run.

Oh I don't know. I haven't followed the practice reports all that close but had someone told me Byrd was moved last week. I assumed it had been reported

When it became clear Tyler Byrd would move from wide receiver to defensive back for Tennessee's new coaching staff, the assumption was he would play cornerback.

After all, that's where Byrd played when he was on defense for his Naples High School team in Florida, and he was the No. 10 cornerback prospect in the country in the 2016 class according to the 247Sports Composite.

The Vols and new head coach Jeremy Pruitt had different ideas, however.

Byrd has been working extensively at safety during Tennessee's first week of spring practices and was there again Saturday working alongside the likes of Nigel Warrior, Micah Abernathy, Maleik Gray, Theo Jackson and Cheyenne Labruzza in the position group now run by Charles Kelly.

Pruitt, who has an extensive background in coaching defensive backs and coaches the position during the early individual periods of Tennessee's practices, explained why the Vols are looking at Byrd there instead of cornerback.

"Lots of times when you take offensive players and you move them to the defensive side, especially a guy that's played wide receiver, he's used to looking at the quarterback," he said after Saturday's practice.

"Well, if you're a big man-to-man team like we are and you're playing corner, you know, you can't guard your man if you look at the quarterback. Tyler has really good ball skills. He has toughness to him.

"So we just felt like after two days that we thought that it might be his best position to actually play safety, because you play with a lot of vision on the quarterback, and he can use his natural ball-catching ability."

Not surprising that a powerful and wealthy family is still so power hungry. What is surprising is their focus on athletics.

Most power mongers focus on something they're at least half way decent doing. Those boys suck at footballing at unprecedented levels, yet just can't keep their grubby little paws off.

Thought he was an all pro corner according to the experts?

You mean guys who ventured an opinion on a message board? If he does better than the defensive equivalent of 3 catches? We got more out of him.
