Maybe. I would argue that by virtue of making a prediction, specifically one that's, "on the record," you're inherently hoping it comes true. Why else would you make the prediction? The only reason to put it on the record (I cringe every time I write that, is there a VN stenographer I'm not aware of?) is so that, presumably, it can be referenced later - the only reason I can think someone would want to reference a prediction at a later date is to gloat about their ability to predict an outcome.
Can you outline a scenario where that prediction, made in that manner, doesn't indicate a desire to be correct?
He seems to enjoy being a smug POS, it's been his shtick as long as I can remember.
This is ridiculous. People predict things all the time that they hope will not happen.
On another note, everything you post on VN is..."On the record" unless you go back and edit it. Quit acting like you are a superfan because you pump that sunshine so hard. None of us want the team to suck. I have been a loyal Tennessee fan thick and thin. My blood is just as orange as anybodys.
