Willie Martinez out here stunting on old narratives

I honestly don't know what would have happened if Gibson doesn't go down because you would have 3 starting-caliber outside corners. And people complain about our safeties. I'm not complaining. We are stacked at some of toughest positions to build depth at.

Moe & Heard though would be the only 2 I could see us losing to the draft...

Moe's got all the experience NFL would want and this season has shown he can play either side as a guard he probably can't really improve his draft stock either with another year.

Heard is NFL body already, was a high rated HS talent and if our offense keeps rolling like it is should have all the positive attention you could ask for come draft time BUT he absolutely should be a 1st rounder and if can't get that sort of guarantee this off-season would be smart to come back (especially if Joey gets another year).

Heard is almost certainly going pro the way he’s playing
Heard and Moe going pro.

Sanders to LT, Perry at RT.

Sham and Pendleton for 2 of the 3 inside spots and the best player or a portal pickup for the remaining starting spot.

Keep building quality depth here and on the D-line coupled with Heupel's ability to coach offense means UT can be top 5 in the SEC year in and year out.

Well if Satterwhite doesn't portal he was already written in to start at Center or Guard. So I'd think you could roll with Sham, Pendleton and Satterwhite as your 3 interior guys... Perry and Sanders as tackles and then you also got another 5 start OT incoming that might work himself into the 2 deep.

For Arkansas we potentially could see what our team is/can be going forward.

We could see our originally starting five OL all together for the first time.

We could see our starting DL and backups finally all playing together and having depth.

We could see our starting DB group (except Gibson but hood is better) finally all play together.

It could be an exciting game and show us what our true potential is this season.

Are we a 9-3 or an 11–1 team?

Few remember if Jordan Ross doesn't run into their punter, UT gets possession back with the lead in the 4th and one scoring drive likely puts the game away. That penalty gave Arkansas new life and they scored of that possession to take the lead before Nico threw the ball ran out of bounds to end the game.
It's weird how forgotten that was. Arkansas looked doomed and I remember having no doubt we were about to come out of there with a W when they lined up to punt. They were on their heels and we were running the ball well.

Their only chance on the 11th is if we....muff a punt, get a personal foul immediately after that, whiff on another punt that downs us at the one, drop a TD, have a TD called back, miss a FG and have two deflection ints'.....then they MIGHT be in the game.

Willie's secondary has given up the most passing yards in the league. Dead last.
I think they are talking about our corner play whereas banks coaches the safeties which are none existent on a weekly basis and hurt that stat
Corners have been good considering we are on our 3rd and 4th option at that position
True freshman got picked on some but he’s played pretty well considering he’s learning to play against guys just as good or better then him

Safety is pretty bad right now. Need two transfers this offseason.

Well according to UT sports

at Bama is a flex (3:30-4:30 OR 6-8)
at Kentucky is already listed as Night (6-8)
vs OU is a flex (3:30-4:30 OR 6-8)
vs New Mexico State - 4:15
at Florida is a flex (3:30-4:30 OR 6-8)
vs Vandy is afternoon (3:30-4:30)

So yeah...we got OU as the only remaining option for a night game at Neyland.
I fully anticipate getting shafted with Bama, UK, and UF all being night games.

Meters?

We are dead last in passing yards given up. What must come as a massive coincidence: we are also dead last in scoring defense.

Is scoring defense also a made up stat or something?
If you're not accounting for pace, opponent, and context than you get very little predictive value from yards or scoring.

Measuring Heupel defenses on yards doesn't make sense when they're constantly 1) running more plays than anyone else, 2) playing against better offenses than anyone else, and 3) leaning towards a strategy designed to create negative plays.

Been viewing mock drafts for 2026 today and 3 or 4 have the Bears drafting another OT in 1st round...
Dependent on our record and available players. Still have plenty of needs up and down the roster. I’d be happier getting more second day picks. Which is the most cited OT? As a Bears AND Vols fan, I think Ozzy Trapillo was a future option at RT pick last draft.
