Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Stayley doesn’t skip leg day! The drive to push defenders 5 yards after contact to convert 3rd and 6 was massive after a tough day on the field.
As frustrating and tense as the game was at times, it was great seeing so many different players giving their all. And with him having the miscues earlier in the game, I loved seeing the focus and determination later in the game.

This might have been mentioned but anyone see the all 22 of the JA to MM throw out of our end zone? Absolutely unreal play by JA. I didn’t understand the pump fake watching it live, but he started to throw and a defender jumps up to bat it down, Aguilar pulls it back down then throws a dart. Dude has been flat out elite this year. We have something special going on right now with him.

Watched his Everything Orange episode with AP and AP asked him what he likes to do/likes to go during his downtime. JA said he doesn’t really go out, said he basically just goes from his apartment to the football facility and back every day all day. You can tell he is locked in.

(He does take the offense out to eat every Thursday but sounds like that is really his only “going out” time)

I thought MM was going to wiggle out of that tackle too and house it. Another year in the weight room and he might.

He is good for a hair-pulling-out, sure-touchdown drop every game in the vein of Ramel Keyton but he’ll redeem himself at some point in the game…. just like Ramel.

I do think MM grew up that game too. The screen he broke a tackle for… clutch. The come back on the scramble during the game-tying drive… clutch.

Aguilar is poised and doesn’t let pressure bother him. He’s always looking down field and going through reads. He’s played as well as could be expected to this point.

Well according to UT sports

at Bama is a flex (3:30-4:30 OR 6-8)
at Kentucky is already listed as Night (6-8)
vs OU is a flex (3:30-4:30 OR 6-8)
vs New Mexico State - 4:15
at Florida is a flex (3:30-4:30 OR 6-8)
vs Vandy is afternoon (3:30-4:30)

So yeah...we got OU as the only remaining option for a night game at Neyland.

NegaDave on Basilio just now: He’s convinced we get Aguilar back for 2026 and that the coaches are fine with that even if it causes Merk and GMac to leave. Basically Brandon will be 2nd string. It’s an interesting situation to consider.
I would sign up for that right now.

Here's a bit of great news...

Heard - Junior
Sham - RS So
Pendleton - RS So
Moe - RS Jr
Perry - RS Fr

Sanders - FR
Moore - FR
Satterwhite - RS-FR
Warren - RS-FR
Ginther - RS-FR
Anderson - RS-FR
Grant - RS-JR

You could return the entire OL roster next season....talk about a dream situation!

Heard is almost certainly going pro the way he’s playing

If I'm Heard...unless I'm given a sure fire 1st or 2nd round grade don't think I'd leave. But also if you're 100% healthy and think you can get drafted in the first 3 rounds hard to argue to come back.

OL are a bit different though pretty rare to see true 3rd year guys go in the draft unless they are obvious 1st rounders. With how well we've looked passing though, he might be.

Yeah, if he's not given an excellent draft grade, he can stay here another season, get a huge NIL payday, and then work himself into a 1st round pick in 2027.
