Hendon also missed several games during that season due to his torn ACL. He was dramatically better that year than Milton ever was.

Missed Vandy, don't think he would've played in bowl. But had he been healthy might have made playoffs. Still playing Vandy probably 200-250 more passing yards and 2 or 3 more TDs. It was a rainy game and we only threw it 23 times...

"dramatically better" is subjective; statistically, which is objective the separation isn't nearly as drastic as fans play it. Lots of what ifs...What if Hendo doesn't get hurt, would he have had 4k yards and 30+ TDs? But also the 2nd what if...Hendo was in his 2nd full season starting in '22. Joe only had 1 full season starting. I think Joe in a 2nd year starting would have had even better numbers.

Hendon was a better QB than Joe/Nico, not debating that. But when talking about Heupel and his QB evaluations for his offense the separation hasn't been nearly as big as fans make it out to be.

The best season by a QB here under Heupel: 68%, 3561 total yards, 35 total TDs, 3 INTs
The worst season by a QB here under Heupel: 64%, 2974 total yards, 22 total TDs, 5 INTs

I certainly hope we don’t let Miss State score 38 points on this defense. That doesn’t bode well for better offenses we’ll face the rest of the year.
We need a good DT, a good mlb, and a good strong safety. I think Farooq is gonna crack some skulls this game. I think Moi helps the DT needs a lot. Now we just need one of our lbs to show up.

And Milton probably had the worst receiving core. Worse than what Nico had.

Donte was a headcase, Bru was hurt early, Squirrel was just solid and then it was Nimrod and Webb.

2 / 4 Baker’s years in Cleveland were really good

64%, 3725 yards 27 TDs, 14 INTs
59%, 3827 yards 22 TDs, 21 INTs
63%, 3563 yards, 26 TDs, 8 INTs
60%, 3010 yards, 17 TDs, 13 INTs

I'd say year 3 was really good, and they went 11-5 too. Finished with just 6 wins in each of the other 3 seasons and had way more INTs. That 3rd season was the year Chubb & Hunt were the two RBs and both went for 800+ yards it made things a lot easier on Baker.

I will say that Baker is very much a Brett Favre type QB imo...he is still throwing a lot of INTs for Tampa. 10 in year 1 and 16 last year, but 4k yards and 28 or more TDs ya kinda deal with it...

Yeah Milton was throwing to Squirrel, Keyton & Nimrod....that's the top 3 in receptions. Was year 1 for Dont'e with Heupel and we have seen basically every WR struggle in this offense year 1.

Nico had healthy Bru, Squirrel, Dont'e, Brazzell and then Miles/Dylan

Again to me Hendo is the standard for sure... we know this offense can produce a QB with 3500+ total yards, 30+ total TDs easily when things are clicking, BUT to try and use Joe or even Nico to drag Heupel down as a bad evaluator of QB talent is just dumb. Not every QB is elite...but every QB he's had start for him has played their best ball while doing so that's not an opinion either.

Joe wouldn't be in the NFL without Heupel. Nico may quit football without Heupel....
