If he's able to play and chooses not to, we need to recoup our NIL money. You don't pay a healthy guy to sit the bench by choice.Believe what you want. I won’t force you. But I heard it before the season. And now AP said McCoy is close but will he play? He has agents giving him advice and family but he loves his team so things could get interesting. Go listen to it.
He beat them last night. We have makor injuries on Defense. We will beat them.I’m so godddamn sad. I have two thoughts.
1. I love Heupel. He shouldn’t be fired. He is the man. He’s a top 5 coach in CFB. BUT… he will never beat UGA. Thorn in his side a la Peyton and UF.
2. We have a top 5 team in the nation. I’ll take our boys against every team we play the rest of the year. Let’s go freakin take it.
Correction: Bama plays Misery before us and we got Ar-kansasSucks we have to listen to 2 more weeks of Candy hype before they play Bama. Although schedule sets up good for us, assuming no serious injuries and we beat Miss St. We got a bye and Bama plays Candy before TOS. Bama will be out for revenge and blow their 'Dors off. Then we catch Bama hopefully somewhat beat up and winded from lapping Vandy.
" I don't think Max Gilbert was prepared to have to kick on a 3rd down. I believe it caught the kid by surprise and ultimately made him miss. Bone headed call by Heupel. I don't care what anyone says"...I have alot of thoughts and questions.
Star is our #1 back and it isn't close. Why are we sticking with this consistent running back rotation all the time? Go with the hot hand.
The linebacker rotation is maddening to watch. It's been the same for years. How is 33 in the game against an SEC rival in a huge game? I don't see other teams rotating LBs like we do year in and out.
We have them on a 4th down and 6 to end the game. Our defensive coordinator leaves Redmond on an island with no safety help? I know where I am throwing the ball if I am an opposing team.
2 point conversion we don't burn a timeout to make sure we have the right defensive call after seeing their formation? Just saying.

I believe the coaches made costly decisions in this game that put our players in tough positions to be successful.
I love Heupel, but it would not hurt my feelings to see someone else as DC.
I will never be happy with a loss.I will say, Brazzell & probably Star only 2 guys that basically played “perfect” games.
Joey had some bad throws, other WRs & TEs had some drops they shouldn’t have.
So many plays though that could’ve been made.
Still you tell me, Vols have a chance to win at end of game with a FG inside 45 yards. I’m gonna be pretty happy.
Keep getting better, cause we have lots of youth playing now. Get healthier as well & win out!
it is OK to question and make observations - we are dedicated fans and in some cases, donors. Nobody is suggesting a change in HC.I have alot of thoughts and questions.

H/T to Kirby for doing exactly what he needed to do to beat us. There was no other way it was going to get done. The better roster lost.
Saw it exactly the same way except for the kicker. My personal observations and from nearly every VFL I talk with has been he is not the guy since last year, yet, Heup still uses him. It's in his mental make-up. Programs at this level need better, more alpha kickers.
Our HC is making what top 5-10 HC's make. Expectations are as high as is his ceiling. Great potential. He needs to perform accordingly. He needs to change in a couple areas with one being loyal to assistant coaches who do not get it done. Example - each season Banks has laid an egg in at least one big game. It was obvious from their first play that he did not design and align the D correctly in the game plan for UGA's O-scheme and Bobo's play calling, which are well documented after all these years. It was not until the 4th quarter that he figured out they should consistently run base 4 man fronts and nickel to protect the back side. By then our D was tired and slow in reacting. Add in not giving Redmond help. We are now in Season 5, the SEC learning curve should have long since ended. InVol has always been right on this. We are not UGA on D with dudes nearly every season who can compensate for mediocre or poor coaching.
The other "loyalty" issue is to players. The eye and stat line test with his O is also obvious. He is the OC, not Joey. If he is going to do that, he has to play and use the best players more. Other elite programs do, he should be no exception. He plays the third best RB on runs more than any of the other two. Star Thomas will be a starting RB in the NFL. Bishop will be unlikely to make a team beyond a year. Bishop is a solid blocker. It is pointless to have Bishop out there to run the ball or go out in a pass pattern. When using an RB in a play, that means Thomas first and Lewis second. The need to do so becomes even more important at crunch time.
Players make plays unless they are on the sidelines and not in the game.
Next, why would anybody in their right minds stop throwing the ball to Brazzell for long periods of time? The ecripting of the first quarter plays showed everytbody what to do to beat UGA. They could not cover our receivers - any of them. Open all game even when JA missed occasionally. The picks were on Staley for falling and Heard for not keeping the pocket clean. The later was on third down and the same as a punt. Keep Bishop in to block and throw the dang ball first, run Thomas second. This is not hard to understand.
We lost the game right here. As you said, we never should have been playing for a FG, UGA should have been playing for two TDs. Conservative play calling the last half of the 4th Q killed us. That’s why I’m baffled and angry with Heupel at the moment. I’ll get over it, but playing to not lose will always get you. And when you’re only up 8, that’s not the time to do that.We certainly could have used all 4 of our defensive starters that were out, but defense wasn't absolutely horrid. It just ran hot and cold. It lacked consistency. I thought we had 4 sacks, but stat sheet I saw said 3. Plus, the forced fumble. So defense had its moments. Truth be told, offense lacked consistency as well. There were some spectacular catches, but also some drops that should not have happened.
One thing still bothering me, after the FF/TO, why did we run the ball 3 straight times and play for a FG rather than trying to rip their heart out? Heupel needs to hone his killer instinct. When you get the chance to take a team by the throat, do it.
I still say Humphries pushed off in the endzone to make that TD catch. OPI should have been called.
Not blaming Gilbert for the loss, but he should have made that FG. At the same time, we shouldn't have been playing for a FG, which we were.
We have a nasty habit of getting conservative and playing scared at times.
I want that game back. I hope we can finish the season strong, make the playoffs, and face Georgia again. Or hell, maybe face them in the SEC CG. I just know I want another shot at them, hopefully with a healthier team.
This is just not true. One other equals one saving score. Lol. Not how it works. But we definitely needed them.We win by 2-3 scores today with those 3 in the game. Just very unfortunate how this season has panned out. I love Heupel and have said plenty he’s a top tier coach, but every season seems to have a shoulda-woulda-coulda. And it’s never really anything he can help. I think God may just not like us at this point lol.
